Quiet, Reliable Air Cooler With Great Airflow
This air-cooled CPU cooler is a solid unit all around. I don’t have any real complaints. The airflow is very good, and the noise level is impressively low. In my setup, I can actually hear my generic case fans more than the CPU cooler itself, and I usually run everything at about 20% speed. If you have any ambient noise in your house, you probably won’t notice the CPU cooler at all. In a completely silent room, you might hear it, but at that point, you’re probably the type who would be looking at water cooling anyway. For most users, this is a dependable choice that moves plenty of air at low RPMs without adding noticeable noise. Solid performance for the price.

Epic Cooler for an Epyc CPU
Excellent value for the money. Keeps AMD 7551 around 47-48c. Pretty silent and best of all fits in a 4u case. Very sturdy cooler. Great airflow and performance.

Great Temps, Quiet, but Proprietary
I have this thing strapped to an EPYC 7502 and at idle this thing runs a ambient temps at just 900rpms, absolutely wild. If you have a 4u or ATX case and a Epyc or Xeon Scalable CPU this air cooler has amazing performance, and unlike Noctua coolers for similar sockets it allows you to have your Cooler airflow inline with a front to back airflow rather that bottom to top. The one downside is the Fans, while the design does prevent any spacing conflicts with ram, they're also of a proprietary design luckily you get 2 so you could limp by with one I tested just a single fan and it still holds temps at decent levels under max load. But I have no clue how to get a replacement without dealing with a warranty claim, unlike other air coolers simply slapping a new fan on is simply not an option. So you'll have to get creative with zip ties, brackets, or perhaps even 3D printing a new mounting solution.

Works very well with Threadripper! (the Rev. 2 version has supplanted this model)
Needed something while I waited for watercooling parts for a Threadripper build and didn't need anything premium like a Noctua. The 4U-M (and as of this review supplanted by the 4U-M Rev. 2) works well, easily handling a constant 300W socket draw, and could maintain 350W as long as the cooler has access to cool fresh air. I could even maintain a slight overclock at 380W power if I cranked the fans to max. As for the fans, they are fine, as they're similar to the Arctic P12's, but adapted for this cooler. Arctic also provides 3D models for printing if you choose to use other standard fans for this. The heat pipe contact could use a little more coverage; photos in this review show the exact contact patch on a Threadripper CPU. It is adequate and as previously mentioned it handled the stock TDP of the processor without issue. All of this cooling for $55!

My EPYC server has never been cooler! It fits well in most 4U rack mount cases.
I bought this cooler so I could fit my EPYC build into a 4U Rosewill rack mount case. Previously, I had the server installed in a full ATX tower Fractal Design Define 7 XL case. There's significantly more clearance in the tower case than the 4U so I needed something that could cool effectively and was slimmer than my previous cooler. I've been happily running the cooler for the past few months without any issues and it keeps my 32C/64T EPYC 7452 performing well.

Sometimes it fits, sometimes it doesn't.
I've purchased two of these. One was used for an Epyc server and the other for a Threadripper workstation. It works really well when fans are in a front to back configuration, like a RomeD8-2T board. However, when installing onto a SP3/TR4 that has a top/bottom fan orientation (like a x399 board), it will likely block your first PCIe slot. Also, if you have a VRM heatsink installed on the board, it will likely make contact. You can move the fan up some to clear it (depending on your chassis) or remove the VRM heatsink, but these options are not optimal at all. Even with that done, you may not be able to close your case. The main issue with all of this is the thickness of the fan shrouds. Since the fans and cooler are a proprietary design, replacing the fans isn't as simple as throwing on a couple 120MM. You'll need to get creative with zip ties or other methods for attaching other fans. That said, when it fits properly, it works great.

Great heatsink
Installation for sTR5 was a little unintuitive (since I didn't watch the guide first) but once I figured out how the screws needed to be installed through the mounting bracket and into the heatsink it was a breeze. The adjustable fans really help with ram/vrm fan clearance too, this cooler fits my Asrock trx50 ws perfectly with just the front fan shifted up 3 or 4 cm. Overall, this is a great heatsink at a competitve price
