Surprisingly Sophisticated and Satisfying – A Game-Changer for Social Sipping
I’ve tried quite a few non-alcoholic options over the past year, and the FREE AF Paloma stands out in a big way. This isn’t just flavored sparkling water pretending to be a cocktail, it’s complex, crisp, and genuinely satisfying. You get that bright burst of pink grapefruit with a hint of lime, and the subtle herbal bitterness gives it that cocktail-like edge. What really surprised me was the “Afterglow” effect. It’s not overwhelming, but there’s a gentle warming sensation that mimics the feel of a traditional drink. It’s clever and adds a layer of authenticity I didn’t expect from a mocktail. I’ve used this for everything from post-work relaxation to weekend get-togethers, and I’ve even poured it over ice with a salted rim for an elevated experience. Friends were impressed, and a few actually preferred it to the real thing. The ingredients are clean, it’s low in calories, and I love that it's vegan and gluten-free. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but I think it’s worth it for the quality and the feeling of being part of the moment without the alcohol. If you're looking for a smart, stylish alternative that actually delivers on taste and experience, this is it. I’ll definitely be trying more from FREE AF.

Good tasting alcohol alternatives
These drinks are so good! Great flavor, carbonation and a perfect alcohol alternative.

These are really good for a non-alcoholic beverage
Do they taste like the real thing, not really but they are good. I really like the paloma and the G &T. The Paloma is not really grapefruit juice, but it is refreshing and will do just fine for a substitute. The G & T has a good cucumber taste, and I added some fresh cucumber to the glass and that was nice. My friend and I go to a great little "speak easy" in town and they have a nice selection of non-alcoholic mixed drinks on the menu. These are almost that good. For about $3 each they are a good value. They charge $9 at the bar even for a non-alcoholic miex drink. I plan to order a case of these again for dry January.

Stick to plain seltzer
As I've gotten older, I've learned that alcohol and I do not get along very well. If I had what was normally my limit-2 drinks-when going out, my sleep would be very disturbed. Eventually, even one alcoholic drink would wreak havoc with being well rested. With the vicious heat this summer is bringing, it seemed worthwhile to try replacing some of my ethanol based summer sips with mocktails. This one-FREE AF Non-Alcoholic Cucumber G&T-was an utter miss. First, an authentic g & t has NO cucumber in it. Whatever they are using in this to simulate a cuke tastes very unpleasant and artificial. What has always made gin and tonics a refreshing thirst quencher for me is the bitterness of the tonic-the quinine. This has none of that. I keep sipping this as I type the review and what keeps occurring to me is this tastes like 3 day old water from a vase of expiring flowers-only it's stale, slightly carbonated waste water. While I am aware that it is foolish to expect the same taste experience with a N/A cocktail as one would get from a "fully leaded" drink, this bears no resemblance to any gin and tonic or even a good tonic water (like Fever Tree or Q Tonic) on the rocks. And $40 for what amounts to a 12 pack of bad tasting canned seltzer water? Fool me once, shame on you. I will most certainly NOT be fooled twice by coming back for more of this ersatz crap.

King of the non-alc
Far and away the most realistic and best tasting non-alcoholic drinks on the market. (The others taste too sweet or like vinegar or like nothing at all). I love all the flavors except the Paloma. Vodka Spritz and Apero Spritz are my go-to. They should sell the Whiskey Ginger in its own 4-pack, it’s the best.

Good but not worth it
They're good but they're essentially really expensive cucumber seltzers. Definitely not worth spending $45.

Unique beverages with great flavors without the buzz
These were a great alternative for “no alcohol January” - I will say they taste like the real beverages, so you get all the cool flavors without the buzz. The whisk#y ginger beverage certainly had overtones that were not gingerale. This one was my favorite, and it felt like a drink you could sit and sip. My second favorite was the Apero Spritz which I garnished with some orange slices. Paloma has a strong grapefruit flavor if you like that, and I garnished with thin slices of lime and lots of cherries to balance the bitter and sweet. It was certainly refreshing in its own way. If you liked G and T, then this version with tonic water, lemon and cucumber will hit the spot. I used my good cocktail glasses, made some nice garnishes and enjoyed the company of my friends. These versions of traditional drinks were a nice change, and it’s certainly a nice alternative for an adult who doesn’t need a “adult beverage.“

Tasty and perfect for sober life!
Afterglow has completely changed the way I think about non-alcoholic drinks! The variety of flavors is incredible — from Aperol Spritz to Cucumber Gin & Tonic, each one tastes just like the classic cocktail it’s inspired by, but without any alcohol. The proprietary blend of botanicals gives a subtle, warming sensation that really captures the feeling of enjoying a real drink — it’s fun, social, and surprisingly sophisticated. I love that these drinks are made with natural ingredients, are low-calorie, and free from artificial sweeteners. It makes sipping them guilt-free, whether I’m relaxing at home or joining friends at a party. The ready-to-drink cans are super convenient — just chill and enjoy, or pour over ice with a garnish for a little extra flair. Perfect for anyone looking for a mindful, alcohol-free option that doesn’t compromise on taste or experience. Afterglow keeps you in the moment while still feeling like you’re treating yourself. Highly recommend!
