Pristine really helps boost bacteria and reduce gunk in the water. I used this after a small ammonia spike and within two days the tank looked way clearer and got rid of the ammonia levels, It smells like sulphur when dosing, which is normal but strong. Pairing this with Stability works well, especially in planted tanks. I have gradually changed my tank products to Seachem, after reading reviews. Giving this a go and to be honest ive never had any issues, will update at a later date.

This product contains live bacteria, which promise to break down solid organic matter more effectively in the tank. This is almost immediately obvious, and fish waste, suspended matter and uneaten food will quickly be broken down which gives a 'quick fix' of a cleaner, clearer looking tank in a day or two...and it works. But. And it's a big but. The organic matter is only broken down ready for the next stage of biological filtration, and produces nitrates, nitrites and ammonia all of which are potentially lethal to fish. If your main filtration system is not ready for this surge, or capable of dealing with it, this product can lead to disaster with spikes in toxins which will potentially kill livestock. Really, this product polishes the living daylights out of already very 'clean' tanks with a good filtration bio-load balance... Don't buy it to solve problems with dirty tanks, it won't help and could prove the tipping point for disaster.
