1960 Racing Chronograph Mens Watch, Stainless Steel

Beautiful watch, quality item. Let me tell you, the sapphire on this watch is incredibly durable. I work with my hands, everything from welding to tile work, automotive, and carpentry. I have yet to mar the sapphire even slightly, and I have been wearing this daily for the last 12 months. Makes me wonder if some of my watches claiming to have a sapphire glass, (ahem Skagen, Bulova) are in fact soda glass or maybe borosilicate, each one having significant scratches of unknown origin on the surface of the glass. The movement durability has been tested. A lot. Hammer drills, pneumatic sanders, shaking spray foam cans, jig saws, reciprocating saws, oscillating multi-tools. Each one has its own mode of fairly high intensity vibration, and the entire watch has maintained accuracy, including each dial and all chrono functions. All of the hour marks on the face are still adhered. The only minor complaint I have, is that the reset/flyback function button sometimes does not engage when pressed. It will click, but nothing is registered. When pressed harder, chrono flies back. Not worth subtracting a star. The linked stainless bracelet that came with the watch could have tighter tolerances, as it has loosened up a bit more than I would have liked. However, given what this watch has been through, I cannot attribute this to a lack of quality. I would buy another one of these watches in a heartbeat (likely panda dial, maybe midnight) with the stainless band, and one or two leather options from AV. Those would be maintained as an occasion-only timepiece, with the knowledge that they are going to outlive my grandchildren. Good work! Looking forward to new releases.

An awesome watch. Build as a more expensive watch. Friends estimate the watch to cost in the thousands. Makes me happy to know I bought a winner at a fair price.

One of my favorite watches!

Great looking watch with chronograph capabilities. It appears to be well made, and the stainless case is nice and heavy. The 40mm case is slightly smaller than some more modern looking watches, so it is staying true to the Vintage name and will fit smaller wrists very well. It has is a Japanese quartz movement, so I expect it to perform well for a long time.
