Very happy with the quality and price
I am not a lover of foundation and only have it on hand for those rare moments I need it due to high stress breakouts. Since I was happy with the concealer and eyeliner I have tried from ELF and their prices are so great, I thought I would give this a try too and I am very pleased with it, I was surprised the color was exactly as it appeared and is perfect for me. It is light weight and seems to cover well without a need to layer on thick, which I do not do anyway.

Elf flawless makeup
Flawless oil free makeup. Excellent coverage. Not wet or sticky. Not way to rub off to damage clothes

Blends perfectly, but is a bit thin
This is probably the creamiest, easiest to apply foundation I have tried so far. I don't use a brush, just my fingertips, and some foundations are thick, hard to apply, or make your pores and fine lines more visible. Not this one! All I do is apply it to clean, moisturized skin (I like to use a moisturizer with sunblock built in), and it blends right in! It smoothes and evens out uneven skin tone and makes the skin glowy, which I like. You can't tell AT ALL that you are wearing any foundation! You can't see it or feel it. It's pretty cool. And the price is amazing. However, it's not perfect. It doesn't cover everything. After I use it, I can still see the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks, the minor redness on my forehead or the occasional tiny zit or two... Not the way my other foundation from Il Makiage does. I even tried applying as much as 4 layers of the stuff, in the hope that coverage would build -didn't work. So... I really do like it, but I don't conpletely love it. I think I might need something with a fuller coverage. Therefore today I decided to use this foundation all over my face, and THEN dot it in the most problematic areas (those with redness and hyperpigmentation) with my trusted Il Makiage foundation -and it looked REALLY good! Sometimes, the Il Makiage foundation settles in my fine lines and emphasizes them instead of hide them (I know they also came up with a blurring product, but I haven't tried it yet -it's kind of pricey)... So using both products might be the trick I need -at least for now.

Perfect!
This foundation is wonderful. The formula is as good as a high end luxury foundation. I have used so many bottles of this, and no matter how many other foundations I try, I always go back to this one. Sadly elf is discontinuing this product and it has been replaced by the Soft Glam Satin Foundation, that it is also good but not better than this one. I love how it blends super easy. It has a medium coverage that you can build and it really lasts all day without breaking in certain spots or looking patchy. I have combo skin that is acnee prone and it makes my skin look flawless. It covers all imperfections, yet it looks very natural and it feels ligh on the skin. It is perfect and the price is incredible. Get it while you can....this is a gem

Smelly, but decent quality for the price
Things to keep in mind when reading my review: I’ve recently gotten back into makeup so I’m currently still experimenting and learning. My face is oily with some texture. What I like about it: Price point is hard to beat. I got my shade for $3. It’s vegan and cruelty free, which is important to me. I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise. The color I got is an amazing match for my skin. I’m very pale and historically it’s been hard to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. This one looks perfect to me. Another thing I like is that it really evens out my skin tone and it’s buildable coverage wise. Feels okay on the face. I haven’t noticed any irritation yet and my sensitive skin appreciates that. After it fully dries it doesn’t seem to transfer very much. What I don’t like: The smell. I’m sensitive to smells. I prefer to wear unscented makeup for that reason. If I had realized this had a fragrance, I would not have bought it. Another reviewer said this smells like baby powder and grandma. They were right. It really gives “old lady.” Which is totally fine, but it’s not my thing. Maybe if the fragrance was barely there I wouldn’t mind it, but I still wonder why they even put fragrances in makeup anyways. It really seems to highlight my texture which is not a look I was going for. Maybe if I primed my face with something before this foundation it wouldn’t be an issue, however, I am more of a foundation minimalist (I typically don’t wear any foundation at all) so I was hoping to be one and done. I’ve only been wearing it for around 45 minutes and my oily-ness is already starting to come through. I want to leave it on longer to see how it holds up in a few hours, but the scent is making my eyes and nose water, so I’m afraid I have to wash it off before I can find out the longevity. Overall: It’s probably a great starter foundation, but please make it unscented.

Where has Elf been all my life?!
I was super skeptical about this foundation because I am in my 50s and skeptical of ANY foundation. They were always kind of cakey and heavy for my tastes, but I had good skin and could get by without foundation for a couple decades. BUT my skin is not what it used to be, and I just moved to a new climate and my skin is not adjusting well. I have weird red splotches on my cheeks and chin, but my eyes look sunken because the skin under my eyes is kind of sallow and just not normal. Also, and how fun is this?, my formerly normal skin has become dry and even kind of flaky on my forehead. So with this horror show happening on my face, I thought I would give a foundation a try again. I haven't bought it, as I mentioned above, in at least twenty years, so I really didn't know what to look for or what to get. But everywhere I looked, people were raving about Elf, so I popped on Amazon to read some reviews, and I was sold. I didn't do the whole looking for the right shade thing since my skin is very fair and not hard to match at all color-wise. I wasn't so sure about coverage, so I also bought some weird purple thing to quiet the red. Happily, I received the Elf foundation first because I don't need the purple powder (which seemed weird to me, but I did try it on the weekend, and it really did cover the red weirdness, so yay!). I only used the tiniest amount and kind of dabbed it on the red parts first, and then I used a foundation brush to blend it up down and around (and dabbed a bit more on my suddenly dry and flaky forehead), and I have to tell you, this is some amazing foundation! I have never seen anything like it; it's like ten years were just sucked off my face because it not only covers uneven skin tones but does a good job filling fine lines around my eyes and even moisturizing my forehead flakes to the point they disappear. And it lasts! Obviously, I don't touch my face during the day, but it lasted and didn't cake or get uneven at all. I really couldn't be happier. In fact, I just ordered a slightly darker color to try some contouring! So obviously, I would not only buy this again but am inspired to try more adventurous things to get just the look I want. Where has Elf been all my life? I can't wait to see if their other products are as fabulous because now I want new eye-shadows and a lipstick!

Great coverage, light, and non-drying.
My foundation, that I used for years, was discontinued. I have been doing without for a long time, mostly because it is a pain to look for new makeup. I like what I read about the e.l.f. products and thought I'd give it a try. What I LOVED most is that the small tubes and jars are the perfect "try me" size and very affordable. Great marketing strategy. I was able to buy 6 different shades so I could try them at home. I was actually surprised at how much foundation is in each tube and jar. I guess that I chose wisely because most of the shades I picked would have worked, but the best was the "Pearl" shade. I have light green undertones to my skin. This shade helped even out my skin and give it a consistent tone. I used my regular face cream a few minutes before applying the makeup and it went on so smoothly, without feeling cakey or dry. It lasted all day, in hot weather, and I still had a "glow" to my skin. It worked really well with my powdered blush. I have slightly oily skin, but do not like the feel of matte foundation. This foundation was a great compromise for my skin type. This will be the foundation I use forever...or until they discontinue it.

Pleasantly surprised
I was looking for a replacement for 2 more expensive brands I have that I'm not super satiffied with. 1 is an IG cult brand that sort of promises a perfect match (it was a tad too dark and yellow), the other a clean brand that I bought in person (it's a close match but it highlight dry skin as it has some SPF which is mineral and it dries skin out). I have aging skin, used to be oily but now is prone to dry patches, and melasma on forehead and cheeks. After much deliberation, I chose Fawn, eventhough every "quiz" I take always wants to rec shades that have more yellow. My skin does have some yellow but I actually prefer to go a bit more neutral with a bit of cooler/neutral pink to tone down the yellow tones and brighten things up. Fawn turned out to be a winner for me. It's medium coverage so needed a bit more over discoloration. Formula-wise, I'd say it performs like the famous IG cult brand. Didn't settle in my lines, not cakey looking, not highlighting dryness, though I did moisturize and exfoliate beforehand. The color match is pretty good and creates a nice canvas for my blush and other pretties. It's a true satin finish: not totally matte, but not overly shiny. A bit of setting powder over it and voila! I asked my husband if it looked like I was wearing foundation and he wasn't sure, lol. Which means it looks fairly natural and not obvious. For 6 bucks it's a steal and an easy risk for something I couldn't swatch in person. The photos are the shade itself, one side blended out, and then both blended into skin.
