Audio-Technica ATR2500-USB Cardioid Condenser USB Microphone

The biggest reason I can confidently recommend this microphone, though, is how well it works for the students in my writing classes. They use the ATR2100 for recording podcasts and the audio components of digital stories. The mics are “plug-n-play” for Macs and most Windows operating systems after XP. There are no drivers to install and the microphone will work with almost any software. They just need to be plugged in so that the machine can recognize them. All-in-all, this is an excellent, no-nonsense, inexpensive microphone.

Delivered very well packed! This is a great start off product for people wanting to record themselves for podcasts etc! Or for people that want to upgrade a cheap or old recording device, There is a reason this product is so popular with Youtubers! Great value overall for what your getting!

OK, the downsides:The mic stand is flimsy but you can probably buy another - we have paid for the mic not the stand.The headphone input needs some wiggling from time to time - not had the mic long enough to know if this is going to get worse?the plus sides - great mic for the money - clear, easy to use, pics up sound well provided you are pretty close to the mic (I am only using it for vocals).I use my mic for demo writing and rough recording. It is great for this purpose. Am using without a pop shield and haven't needed one.Plugged it into my mac and was able to use it straight away, very easy!!

Perfect product for my podcast. The sound is clear but I do use an app to help with sound. My friend who is podcaster has actually said he getting one due to fact he paid cheaper for his and not as good.

This is the current model of one that was recommended by one of the main on-line course creators and I can see why. It is simple to use, very clear and has optional inputs. I have used it with the Zoom H5 for recording so far, and I am expecting the same performance used as a desk microphone with my PC. It is light and easy to carry. The case is a bit plasticky and won't stand too much of a battering but I don't intend to throw it around. Only one word of warning, I purchased through Geartrex and at the time of ordering they were not VAT registered so I cannot reclaim the VAT paid. This made it 20% more expensive than it needed to be, for a business purchase. For a private purchase it makes no difference.

I purchased this mic after researching best microphones for picking up as little background noise as possible and that also offers mic monitoring so I can hear my own voice during conference calls. I'm a fan of mic monitoring as I feel that I have more control over my voice due to being able to monitor my own voice in real time.This mic ticked all the boxes for me - the only thing I'd change if it was possible would be to offer a desktop version rather than being in an actual microphone format for looking more aesthetic on a desk.

Tiny controls are flimsy and not durable.Mic casing solid and well made.Sound quality below average and tinny.Exaggerated breath pops.Verdict: Would not buy again.

Awesome mic, especially considering the price. The option to use usb or XLR is a neat feature. Great sound performance and very sturdy construction.
