Solid-Feeling & Voltmeter Actually Works!
I was looking for the lazy man's way to quickly and cheaply add a voltmeter to my 1994 Miata - ideally with green lighting to match my instruments - and this worked perfectly. In 'accessory,' it read 11.3V (yes; battery is on borrowed time) and changed to 14.4V once started as the alternator charged the battery. By lunchtime, the car refused to start, which made sense as the voltmeter now read only 10.3V. When you plug a device into a USB port, the display alternates between vehicle voltage and device charging amps: cool! The outer ring also changes colors to reflect charging status. Finish was nice and the metal body felt solid. I had to squeeze the spring-loaded contacts slightly to get it into my cigarette lighter socket, where it stayed securely but could still be removed easily. The only very minor shortcoming was being unable to tell which way was up, display-wise, until I powered on the car. But then it was simply a matter of removing, rotating it 180 degrees and reinstalling.

Heavy Duty, Works Great and Looks Cool!
I love the heavy, high quality build of this Car USB Charger and Voltage Meter. It looks cool in my car's dash both during the day and at night. I leave it plugged into my car 24/7 and I can always see the battery voltage at a glance when I am not charging my cell phone. When I am not charging a phone, I can leave this unit plugged into me car's always-on power jack over a three day weekend and it doesn't drain my car's battery. When the voltage drops somewhere below 12 volts (I forget the exact voltage) the green light starts to flash red in a very attention-getting way, letting you know that your car battery voltage is dropping below 12 volts and that you should either start your engine or investigate why you battery is not charging. When you plug in a USB cord to charge your cell phone, the voltage display changes to constantly give you the charging current that is being consumed by your phone. (Instead of reading 12.6 Volts, it will then read something like 0.3A) Personally, I would rather have the voltage to be always displayed, because I don't care about how many amps are going to my cell phone. The quality of the the electrical connections at the tip and sides of the plug-in unit are good. Every now and then I find that this doesn't make good electrical contact with my car's 12 volt power jack (aka: cigarette lighter socket). When this happens I assume it is due to corrosion in my car's power jack. I then quickly rotate it left and right a few times and the electrical connection is restored again. Again, since the tip and electrical connections are still nice and shiny, I attribute any lack of electrical connection to my car's jack and not this nicely made charger. This is the third time that I have ordered this product to give as a gift for a family member, I like it that much.

UPDATE: Fixed Issue, Usually doesn't work
***UPDATE Dec 2018*** Quick update to the review I wrote below, and explain why I've added back in 2 stars. I believe Palumma is a company that really stands behind their product. After writing the critical review below, I received an email directly from a company rep who apologized for the problems I had with this charger and offered to send me a replacement, despite being past the return deadline. Within three days I had a brand new charger in my mailbox. I plugged it into my car last night and it fits much more snugly and doesn't wiggle loose as much. I really like seeing my battery voltage displayed when the charger is plugged in. It's very helpful to get some warning before your car dies, especially if you're driving a worn out old battery like me! ***ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW*** I've purchased two of these chargers so far, and I'm considering buying a third despite my low rating. I really like the features of this phone charger, but I'm disappointed in the quality of the second one I'm currently using. The first one I bought one back in the spring time was fantastic. It fit snugly in my 2013 Mazda 3, charged quickly and kept me alert to the charge level of my battery. Then tragically my car was broken into and it was stolen. So I ordered another one, but this one fits loosely for some reason. It wiggles around and most of the time doesn't display anything. I have to giggle it precisely in order to get it to charge, and if the cord is moved even a little bit I'll look down and find it's no longer charging. Unfortunately my return window has passed now and I'm not sure if I should take another chance or try a different product.

Good bright voltmeter
This product has a Bright display that is easily read. I have an older car without a battery gauge and after having battery issues, this volt meter is very much on time. It stays on even when the car is off and no keys in ignition. The led uses little to no power and after weeks of not being started, I’m glad to see I still have a charged battery enough to start the car and can see a surge in volts once it’s started due to the alternator (newly replaced) doing its job. I haven’t used the usb plugs yet as they were of secondary concern. The led ring around the dial changes color according to the health of the charge which makes it easy to see as well.

Solid
A good solid heavy feel to it. The light turns green when powered on and shows the voltage of your battery. The light turns white when when you plug in a device for charging power and alternates between the battery power voltage and the charging amps supplied to the device plugged in to it. Using it to power my GPS on my motorcycle. I used a cap (red) to seal off the other USB port. Pleased with it. UPDATE..7/5/25. After using this for only about 3 mototorcycle rides I'm taking it off and going back to thr Garmin Zumo GPS original power cord. Why? It takes a very long time to power up the gps (minutes) where before it only took seconds. The second thing is that it loses connectivity while riding with the gps turning on and off. The third thing is where it started out supplying 4 to 5 amps it is now down to 2 or 3 and that display turns off after a time and only the battery voltage is displayed. I loved it at first and ordered a second one for my jeep but will be returning that one as soon as it arrives. Would be a great product and attractive if it only worked like it should .

The possibility of voltage backfeed through the adapter can cause issues.
Review of the PALUMMA 24W/4.8A Dual USB Car Charger, 12V to USB Outlet with Cigarette Lighter Voltage Meter LED/LCD Display Battery Low Voltage Warning (Black) . It works well. But there is a downside however. This item is used to power or charge your electronics that has a USB type connector and give you a digital indication of your vehicle battery's voltage. It does both of these tasks well. If your electronics has an internal battery you should unplug it from the PALUMMA when you power down your vehicle. If you do not, there is a very good possibility that the voltage in your electronic device will back feed into your vehicles system. I know it did that to my 2023 vehicle. It caused some strange problems. Even though the power socket is de-energized when the ignition is off, the vehicle system can still sense that there is voltage present at the socket. The voltage that is not supposed to be there upsets the electronics in the vehicle. The door handle access sensor would intermittently not sense that it was being touched and the vehicle would not unlock unless the key FOB was used to unlock the doors. After driving and parking and properly shutting down the vehicle, it would alarm and the steering wheel would not lock into position. After exiting and closing the doors, it would not allow the vehicle to be locked. This anomaly may be present with other power socket adapters but I have not experienced this problem with other adapters I use.
