unMEAT Fish-Free Tuna Flakes in Brine

I'd what the bad reviews are on about... this slaps!

I made an old school tuna casserole with this and it really did the trick texturally. The flavor profile is a little different but no one seemed to mind.

I've been vegetarian for a long time but recently have been craving tuna so i thought i would try this. I have had SO many plant-based meat alternatives that taste incredibly similar to the real thing and have had several planted based fish items that were SO close to real fish that i thought there was no way it was plant based. THIS is not one of those items. THIS is disgusting. It just flat out tastes bad and smells like hamster bedding. Do not eat this!

Tastes very much like tuna, especially mixed with some mayonnaise, vegan or regular.

listen, if you’re a vegetarian, you will enjoy this. If you think it’s gonna be tasty exactly like tunafish, it’s not, because it’s not fish. But as a vegetarian, who wants something that is good for a nice tasty sandwich or something to put on crackers it’s great! I didn’t have to even add mayonnaise to this. I liked it straight up how it is.

I'm still searching for a non meat version of tuna to use in vegan cooking for vegans and meat eaters alike. This one does NOT taste like tuna. The texture is close but not the flavor. I used it to make a tuna melt sandwich and the left overs I used with crackers. It's flavor is okay but if you want a tuna flavor, stick to the real thing. Best thing about this? No fishy smell!
