Lithofin MST05 MN Stain-Stop Special Impregnator 500ml

Firs i wanted to say: NEVER INSTALL A GRANITE KITCHEN WORKTOP. But if you have, as we did, I would definitely recommend this stainstop sealer. It works really well and is easy to use. If you have a granite worktop you would need to protect it, otherwise any drops of water leaves permanent trace on it. Of course, if you do not wipe the spillage for a very long time, it will still leave trace even with the protection, but if you remove it within a few hour and polish it, then it should be ok.

I've just had granite surfaces installed, but as this was light coloured and in the kitchen, I thought it would be best to seal it at least once a month to be on the safe side. So reading reviews, the Lithofin came in best and of best value. The item was delivered quickly ( next day) and comes in a metal container with a safety cap, which took a little while to work out (blonde moment). Cleaning all the surfaces to prep, I used clean rag and poured a small amount of sealer onto the surface and worked it in. The smell is not the greatest, but to be expected. Left the sealer to dry overnight, and the surfaces were clean and smell free. A small test confirmed the sealer had worked, so I apply this once a month. One observation though..... when putting wet dishes, especially cups downwards, if I left them for a few days before putting away, the cup stunk... so had to wash them out again... Don't know if this is the sealer, or the sealer the granite people put on before, but its something to consider... More reason to use the dishwasher I say... Bought another for my brother as a family recommendation. :)

Disappointed maybe I'm expecting to much.

Used this to seal some natural sandstone paving in our bathroom. I used the paving for shelves and also as the basin counter top. These get wet all the time and get soap spills on them but with the sealant the water just forms beads and dries off quickly. Really happy with it. I would caution people however to use it outside as the smell is terrible, then once dry move the item inside.

I used this on a granite worktop. Although the worktop looks exactly the same (it hasn't change the colour or sheen) it has really made a difference. Any spills just sit on the surface in 'beads' and don't soak in. I will probably reapply after a year or so, but so far it is working well.

Worked a treat. Very pleased and so easy to use.

clean and easy to apply , so far , no staining or other problems after 6 months - but then its summer and we dont have a fire
