I purchased this after buying the L'ange Le Vite Hot Brush. My hair grew back a completely different texture - porous, curly on top but not underneath and unruly after radiation and chemo for breast cancer. The front pieces in particular kink at the roots and frizz badly even after blow drying with a round brush. My flat iron seemed to make the look of those pieces worse. I liked the hot brush, but found it too large for the front of my front hair near the roots. it works great in back. This Smooth-It Classic Hot Comb, while difficult to change the settings on, is absolutely wonderful for those front pieces. It's thinner for one. Using it as instructed by combing hair from underneath leaves the front of my hair looking smooth, no kinks as closer to the root and allows me to curve my layers into a soft curved-in style. I use only on the lowest heat. It took less than 3 minutes to turn those unruly pieces into a much less frizzy, smooth style that doesn't highlight how porous those pieces are. Even though they don't stay that way when humid out , it's wonderful to see face framing soft layers now. I'm going to keep both L'ange products (unless the comb is defective and that's the issue with changing temperature and turning off). They both seem to be gentler on my hair and leave it looking much healthier than when using a flat iron. Also, I don't use the flat iron between washings as it leaves ridges and fried ends. The hot comb and brush are terrific in that they don't leave anything but styled hair from bedhead hair. I'm not sure how this would work on very thick strands, but this breast cancer survivor can highly recommend the comb to those with compromised, unruly, frizzed hair with cowlicks. The 4 stars is because of my issue with changing the temperature and having to unplug to turn it off - otherwise, it would be 4.5 stars Update: 2 months since purchase. Only used on low once a week for less than 5 minutes at a time. It won't turn on anymore! What a shock! It's stored in the box in a dry place. It's sadly passed the return date! Never fell or took any abuse.

Honestly the best straightener I’ve ever owned. Usually straightening my hair takes at least an hour and leaves my shoulders aching. I did my normal drying routine and sectioned my hair and it took me about 40 minutes, my shoulders do not hurt, and I was able to get to my roots without burning my scalp or my hair.

I really wanted this straightening iron to work on my hair, but it didn't. It seems to be a good product. It's easy to use and it probably works very well on other peoples hair...just not mine. My hair was very frizzy after using this, it pulled out a good bit of hair (my curly hair always has knots, no matter how much I brush it), I had to use 1/3 of a bottle of hydrating oil to calm it down enough for me to go somewhere. I gave it 3 stars because it does straighten hair...just not mine,

The Smooth-It Hot Comb works great on my waist length, thick hair. It takes half the time than my flat iron and I can do larger sections. It's easy to use and the temperature controls don't get in my way. I've used this a few times now and so far, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Works great!! I have very thin blonde hair and it does occasionally pull out a few strands but does straighten well and leaves a nice shine. Can make hair look a bit greasy though if your hair isn't washed.

This heated comb works great. It works for thick hair, and it does the job. You can use quite thick chunks of hair as well. However, it does not work as well as a straightening iron. It is difficult to get the ends perfectly straight as you need to have tension on the hair as you put the comb through it. Takes the same amount of time as a straightener.

I found this tool difficult to use and to pass through my hair, even with passing it through, it didn’t give the results I was expecting! This brand is amazing, this review isn’t to bash the product, it’s an honest review of my experience. I’m sure this tool works wonders for people out there, it’s made well and heats up super quick too!
