Granger's 2-in-1 Cleaner and Proofer - Black, 1 Litres

My Jack Wolfskin coat had become porous. Which is a shame because the coat itself is well made and had remained in good condition.So I tried Grangers and it seems to work very well – it's easy to use and just requires a run in the washing machine and then a cool tumble dry. And now the water just beads and falls off like it did when the coat was new. You get quite a lot for your money – a 1l sachet and as you only use 100ml per wash there seem to be several years’ worth here.I suppose the only issue is how long it will last. But I suppose I can reproof as necessary.

Used to wash/proof an insulated waterproof coat that was starting to absorb rain and become heavy after more than an hour's rain exposure.Seems to have worked well. I dried the coat on a low tumble drier heat setting as advised as the coat label recommended this too.I think this particular coat probably needs an external spray proofing application to restore it to like new performance, but I am very impressed with this Grangers product purely from an ease of use/efficacy perspective.It seems to have worked better than another well known brand I tried.Environmentally friendly squashy bottle format works well too.

Definitely re protects our water proofs and gives them a clean wash.You really need to put on the dryer to activate though.Only annoying issue is that we use the cap to measure out each time and you can't stop the liquid from dripping down the bottle.

Combined cleaner/waterproofing for gortex fabric etc . Seems to do the job. I cannot say if it is as good as a separate wash and water proof alternative but certainly much cheaper.

I have tried to wash two different coats with this and the results haven't been good. Both coats were clean, but had no waterproof properties at all. I washed both separately and used the recommended amount for each coat. I used Calgon tablets in my washing machine before using this to make sure that the machine was clear of any detergents, but that didn't make any difference. Very disappointed. Not able to recommend this at all.

Does not seem to have workedwas it the water wash that restored the waterproof of the first jacket? or the proofer?Cannot comment on how well it cleans as I didnt buy it for that reason.
