Traxxas TRX-4M 1/18 LD Land Rover Defender Red Scale Crawler with Battery/Charger 4WD RTR

It is an awesome little crawler, it is an awful lot of an RC Crawler for the price - very close to some bigger ones in performance and quality. I am nearly sure it is the best RTR 1:18 size crawler you can buy. Crazy amount of mods, upgrade parts, replacement parts available from Traxxas and from 3rd parties also. (2 speed transmission, axles, tyres, wheels, gearboxes, sprockets, frames, bodies, brushless motor upgrades...etc. you name it.) Two small thing to remark: some has front wheel binding with the steering link -> easy and cheap to solve: better steering link or negative offset wheels. It would have been better if this was not there from the factory, but still it is a great product. Absolute fun at home, in the garden or in the woods on a trail. Totally fun for kids also, even my wife loves it. :)

Product is great and high quality…. BUT YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE PARTS AS THEY FAIL. Sounds bad, but it something to be thankful for since this RC car does NOT suffer from modern planned obsolescence. Understand that due to the high initial quality of this RC car, it will function well… until it doesn’t. Unlike cheap competitors, variations of ALL parts are available from 3rd parties. You can repair EVERYTHING on this RC car, so you don’t have to discard it when something critical breaks. BUT LOTS OF THINGS WILL FAIL WITH USE. The following is a list of items that I have had to replace in the 3-months my 6yo son has non-abusively played with this RC car. 1. Drive shaft fell apart when the retaining pins fell out, as they are held in by a rubber band (worst design ever). Replaced with an Injora stainless steel driveshaft of proper design 2. Battery connectors are required to fit the factory ECM if you use higher capacity 3rd party batteries, as OEM batteries are way overpriced. 3. Use of 3rd party batteries required purchase of a larger battery tray to hold the battery securely. 4. Factory steering servo/motor burnt out requiring a replacement. 5. The use of a trailer I purchased for my son adds weight that necessitated the installation of adjustable preload, coil-over shocks to maintain proper ride height. 6. The ECM burnt out and had to be replaced, nobody tells newbs that when replacing the factory ECM with an aftermarket ECM, such as the Injora ECM… that it REQUIRES a NEW CONTROLLER & a NEW RECEIVER/signal box in addition to the replacement ECM. Factory ECM has built in receiver which means you have to get a new ECM+Receiver+Remote control when the factory ECM fails. Best to buy all these simultaneously rather than experiencing extended down-time awaiting sequential orders as I did. This RC car cost me about 2X the original purchase price with all the fixes and upgrades, but my son loves it and it will still be working long after he has outgrown this RC crawler due to the ubiquity of available parts.

Modellino di pregevole fattura e ben realizzato, ottimo per chi vuole iniziare questo genere di hobby...facile da utilizzare e divertente vederlo muovere su ostacoli naturali e artificiali.. A distanza di qlche mese posso dire che non è affatto male anche se fragile in alcuni suoi componenti..dopo 2 mesi mi si è rotto il servo motore dello sterzo, non per particolari sollecitazioni ricevute ma per la sua componentistica fatta di plastica di medio/bassa qualità cosi come la coppia conica anteriore anch'essa con ingranaggi di plastica.
