Great drive, easy and compact.
Great little drive, very compact and reversible 90° USB C cable makes it neat and tidy on any desk. Burned a few 22-24gb backups and works natively with windows like a charm. Solid addition to the setup.

BLU-RAY WRITER WORKS.
I'm happy with the portability of this blu-ray-dvd writer. Finally got the blu-ray disc movie up and running after downloading and installing the software. Had a little difficulty setting it up, but took my time! Very lightweight, well built, not yet tried to burn, or copy on the discs, to test its performance, and durability. Very pleased, good quality from pioneer!!

Great product from Pioneer
Great piece of kit. It works well. It is easy to use and fast enough for CDs and DVDs.

Does job, bit flimsy at price and software not best for all tasks.
I bought this to replace old DVD drive to make for faster file transfer and have Blu-ray function. File transfer much improved (about 4x on average) but some old DVDs better on older machine. Power DVD Software that you download to go with it is OK for disc playback but not good for other tasks and it persists in auto play even when I tried to switch off in settings. Not a big issue but irritating having to shut it off every time to use other programs.

Functional
Works fine, but a little noisy in use and the free software is several years old now!

Good bit of kit
Seems to be well built. It read DVD's and Blu-ray's fine. Only written DVD's so far but that worked fine. I bought this drive as it only needs one USB connection. Some of the cheaper ones require two for power when writing.

Not impressed.
Why did you choose this product over others?:Brand name reputation and personal experience of the brand. Before starting my drive round Europe I performed multiple tests with the software that came with. Seemed to be fine. Connected to or not connected to the internet my laptop happily played DVD’s or blu-ray films.I should explain that sometimes you end up in an area with poor or no internet connectivity. This has stopped me from watching a film from my iTunes video library (or whatever those young wippersnappers want to change its name to these days) in the past. Hence buying a disc player. The brand appealed as I have had multiple appliances from pioneer. All started well, but after a few stop overs and playing different discs the player/recorder started to have a seizure. As if gasping for air the machine would not read the disc and so a frozen image appeared on the screen. Not acceptable under any circumstance I would suggest. The only way to unfreeze was to reboot the laptop after a good old ctrl alt dlt ☹️You then have to start again with all the usual crap that a blu ray disc forces you to watch before you can watch the media you paid good money for.No! It froze in the same place. I removed the disc and found it had been scratched! I would recommend you avoid this hardware. It has not worked for me, and has left me with the need to replace some of my discs. Not happy!
