Modern Fashion Illustration: Simple Techniques for Stylish Drawings

My daughter and I found this artist on TikTok! I’ve purchased all of her books. They are great! My daughter is really into art and sketching and this has a lot of great step by step instructions!

This book goes into great detail about the process & tools required to create fashion sketches. Holly provides pictures along with step by step instructions to create your own. I was happily surprised that she offered the history of fashion illustration. I have the kindle version & I am considering getting a paperback copy as well.

I love Holly Nichols! This is book is great for beginners like me; I use to draw and paint, but have been out of the game for a while. She is very precise and honest about art.

Cute. I thought it was a coloring book but that's on me for not reading the description. Bought for my little who loves to draw/color. This will be perfect for any little artist.

I’ve been getting into fashion illustration as a new hobby and started out with this book. I have followed the author on tik tok and love her work. She wrote this how-to beautifully and it’s easy for a beginner to follow along. The book walks you through illustrations but also provides pre-drawn figures for those of us who aren’t quite able to draw our own yet. I love that the author included how-to for both hand drawn and digital illustrations. She even includes what brushes she uses in the procreate app. Overall I loved going through this guide and will return to it again and again. I only gave it 4 stars because I wish the author would’ve gone into a bit more detail on drawing certain clothes but it is overall educational and informative.

Great gift for inspiring artists. My 11 year old niece loves it and is using it to develop her own style. Wonderfully written and illustrated.
