Raven 28 Backpack - Basalt

I'm a tech director and like to have most things I'd need with me when I'm going to resolve an issue on-site. I carry various cables and adapters, tools like screwdrivers and RJ45 crimpers/punches, rarely used building keys, my laptop, etc. This holds everything very well without being too bulky. It has a nice balance of compartments where I can find a good spot for everything. My last bag had too many compartments and I found myself wasting time opening many in order to find something. I've had it for several months and it has held up very well. I saw some complaints about the material on the back ruining shirts, but I have not experienced that and it is not abrasive. It's possible earlier versions of the bag were different, but if not I can't understand this complaint. I ultimately chose this bag over some other competitors because I preferred the subdued branding and the understated styling.

I bought this backpack for college use. I don’t really carry way too many things so I wanted something that was flexible. This backpack is perfect for that. The fabric is high-quality and it is fairly compact when you do not have too many things inside. But it is big enough for me to carry one or two big textbooks inside. The padding on the shoulder straps and back are great and breathable, and the laptop compartment holds my 16 inch Macbook Pro along with an 11 inch iPad Pro withi ease. I do not think any laptop bigger than a 16 in. MB Pro would fit in this backpack. Using lighter backpacks previously, I always carried my laptops inside a laptop sleeve (inside the backpack), but this one is padded well enough and suspended off the ground making it pretty safe. Overall very happy with this very well built backpack.

As an insurance agent this backpack fits what I need perfectly! 3 full sized sections that can easily house a 17inch laptop in each one. 3 additional mesh pockets inside 2 of the sections, and another smaller section in the front. I carry one 17inch laptop, 2 notebooks 3 folders, chargers for my computer and phone, my wireless mouse, several pens/pencils, and 2 checkbooks and it’s all organized to my liking. Plus I still have PLENTY OF SPACE! I tried 4 other backpacks and this one was the best one.

Yeah this bag is holding up great. I took One star off because the water bottle pockets are too small and I can Only use one at a time- can’t fit my coffee travel mug 160z and my 24oz owala at the same time. Other that that zippers and pocket sizes and sections are great. Holds two laptops perfectly.

Was a bargain.

Sturdy backpack made with strong fabric and quality seems. No rips or tears after a few months of heavy use for work and travel.

After a month and a half of use I just noticed the back strap has a tear in it. I have also missed the returns date by two weeks.

Veramente poco da aggiungere. La qualità è ottima rispetto ai Tucano che ho utilizzato fin ora (a qualità di prezzo tra l’altro). Inoltre, essendo un 28L è molto spazioso, con 3 compartimenti di cui uno dedicato ad un portatile. Onestamente credo di aver fatto un ottimo acquisto.

Spitze! Hatte erst den Ulvö 30 und war mit der Einteilung der Fächer unzufrieden. Hier ist nun mehr als genug Platz. Schleppe täglich Laptop, Ladekabel, OBD-Kabel; Lunch und Kleinkram herum. Passt alles rein! Da ich nicht vorhabe damit zu wandern o.ä. Finde ich es gut, dass keine zusammengerollten Gurte iwo nerven. Heute hatte es Schneeregen, lief länger draußen herum. Laptop & Co. blieben trocken!

I've only used this for 1 day. For context, I'm out and about for most of the work day. I take public transit and walk a lot. My last bag (NF Recon) lasted a year and a half before the straps wore out and the foam started showing. I like the fit of this bag. It's just the right size for my use. 13" MBP, 12.9" iPad, a folder or two, small pencil case, small 1st aid kit, tech pouch... They fit and everything has its place. Feature wise it's simpler than the Recon. I like the materials but the webbings on the shoulder straps are anemic and it could do with a sternum strap. Expect a sweaty back if you're somewhere warm and humid like me.

The backpack fabric tends to show lint and dirt very quickly. Regular cleaning will be necessary to maintain the backpack's appearance. Wax will have to be applied to make the laptop water-resistant, thankfully it is an easy process!
