This is the best quality I ever bought. I have tried the same coupling with the plastic versions and it breaks easily if you draping. I would buy only the metal version because made by stainless steel that cost little bit more but it's worth it.

Definitely worth the extra cash you need to spend to get them. Solid build, best longevity, no leaks. What more can you ask for?

I think these are a must have if you change or move your hose, or swap out your nozzle. So much easier and easier to deal with, especially if you have any hand or grip issues. The metal is more durable than the plastic and I think it's better to go this route if you are going to be actively connecting and disconnecting more than just once in a blue moon. I think the plastic version is fine if you are putting it on something that will rarely be used, or if there's a chance it might get stolen. Life's too short to fight with threads and the leaks etc. associated with the on and off old way of doing it that these things just solve instantly. This is the only way to go. I get them for friends and family anytime I encounter hoses without them.

Now, I shopped on Amazon for these for some time, and if these aren't the best then they most certainly must be among the best out here. And so, I don't have any complaints about them. If you want more durable than THESE though, I'd suggest going to the website for "Eley Hose Reels." Because they have connectors like these that are made of solid brass. I didn't see them on Amazon, which is why I suggested to go to their website. The same goes if you want a nozzle from them. At the very least it is worth checking out because in my opinion their hose nozzle puts Gardena's hose nozzles to shame. But anyway, their connectors don't have the "water stop" feature that these have. You know, where you can uncouple the connection with the water running and it will automatically stop? However, you CAN get a brass shutoff piece from them too and put it on before their quick connector, which would kind of serve the same purpose. Just plan to pay a bit more than what these cost. And by the way, ONLY the quick connector piece that is supposed to go on the end of the hose that an accessory is supposed to get connected to, will have the "water stop" function. The quick connector pieces that are meant for the hose spigot and the beginning of the hose DO NOT have the "water stop" feature. But that really doesn't matter too much if they are being connected to the spigot because then, you're right there by the actual knob to shut the water off. Anyway, these are working great for me so far. And I would definitely recommend them. I would also highly recommend getting the metal ones. The only problem NOW is, that shortly after I got these is when I discovered that "Eley" company I mentioned earlier. And now I'm at a loss for what I want to do now, lol. I'll probably stick with Gardena's products though, as theirs are already pretty expensive. And Eley's are even MORE expensive.

This review may seem sarcastic but the fact is that so much of what we've been forced to buy since the dawn of the big box home store is disposable, plastic crap that lasts one season and it's made me crazy for years. I had never heard of Gardena before and I assume those who live in Germany have been enjoying their quality for years but here in the States, it took some luck and a reddit search to lead me to their door. This is the kind of product that I imagine rich people would own and only they are privy to its existence - but instead, it's basically the same price as the rest of detritus on the market today. I've since ordered the Gardena Multi Sprayer Premium and I expect its quality to be of the same standard - and once again, $45! Just a few percent more than the crap in Home Depot. I'm in love.

The Gardenia products are as good as the advertisement says in German products are known for the longevity. I bought the full metal alloy components because I want them to last. They were easy to put on. It does leak a little at the Spicket, but I haven’t tried to use any plumbers tape yet. My biggest challenge is that the metal made Gardenia products are hard to come by not just on Amazon. When I researched where else I could buy them it stated I could buy Gardenia products at Ace Hardware store, but that is not true. When I went to my local Ace hardware store they told me they didn’t carry them at all. I ended up buying some quick release components from Ace, and the good thing is that they’re typically readily stocked at all Ace Hardware stores as it is one of their own products. The ace products don’t have the automatic water stop feature, but they are a solid metal component and have a little lever to turn the water off at the base.It is not like looking for a needle in a haystack.
