The Ordinary Retinol 0.2% in Squalane, Gentle Retinol Serum for the Face That Is Anti-Aging and Skin Smoothing, 1 Fl Oz

I am 30 days in and so far, no issues. I am going to re-iterate what another customer said as it was spot on for me. This is a good starting dose for people who want to titrate up over time in strength. It also doesn’t dry your skin out like retinol is known to do due to the form. I’m going to use the rest of the bottle then move up to the next strength and so on and so forth. The amount you get for the price is more than sufficient as retinoids can get pricey. This is a very low strength, no real scent to it, so I didn’t experience any irritation, burning or rash. It isn't sticky but is like an oil so I just put on like an hour before bed. I haven't noticed a change in my skin yet, I know that will take time. The only odd thing I've found is I am sweater and walk outside daily, I have noticed it leaves a weird yellow tint in my sunscreen and foundation after sweating. I just use a beauty blender to touch up my makeup and then it's fine. Doesn't really bother me.

A great deal every time. I use this light oil to smooth the texture of my skin, particularly above my thin upper lip and under my eyes. It smells nice and refreshing, is very effective, and leaves no sticky residue. Imagine the smell of a brand-new store.

Great product, helps to keep my skin clear and application is easy. Little bit goes a long way so this bottle will last a long time which will save you money in the long run!

I started with the 0.5% and gradually moved up to 1% — and it’s been amazing. My skin feels smoother, pores look tighter, and fine lines around my eyes and mouth are less noticeable thanks to the retinol, while the squalane base keeps it moisturized without overdrying. Great for tackling acne, texture, and early signs of aging.

I love The Ordinary products for their low price and high value, and this is no exception. I have been using this product for 3.5 months. I started using it a couple of times a week, and now I use it about every other night. I do not notice any improvement in my skin, but I understand that retinol is long-game skincare. I would use this nightly if it weren't for the oiliness. It doesn't truly feel absorbed until the morning, but then again, that could just be because it wiped all over my pillow.

It’s not quite sticky but feels like a sheer oil. If you wear to bed, make sure to give yourself some time for it absorb or else your pillow is going to get a face full. Leaves my skin beautiful and glowy in the morning. Make sure to wear sunscreen during the day because your skin will be sensitive to sun and prone to sun exposed injury/ damage. Note that last part. I used to buy retinol from another company, but it was way pricier and always sold out. I've used this for about 2 weeks and it has been a great replacement. It soaks into my skin quickly, it's a great price for the product and I'll definitely be buying it again. It is a great great replacement for the previous retinol.

Perfect, exactly what I wanted

This is the first anti age product I buy for myself (I'm 26). I was super confused about retinol, retinoids, hyaluronic acid etc. and was doing my own research on pros, cons and what to start with. Then I came across someone's review on Amazon for this precise product, who also seemed to have started with this serum and seemed very satisfied, so I gave it a go. I had no redness nor peeling as the label warns you might experience. I use 5 drops in the evening before going to bed on my face (avoiding the soft skin under the eyes) and neck. Of course it's a little oily (duh it's a serum), but by the morning it's all been absorbed. Ok: effects. My skin feels amazing. Soft, dewy, clear... It looks *great*. And the two fine lines I had on my forehead which I was obsessing over have started to look much more fine and kind of 'blended in my forehead' (ok that sounds weird, but their appearance has much improved - aka I can't notice them as much as before). There's no getting rid of wrinkles you already have, that much I know, but this product is great for starting the lifelong battle with age, making you feel like 'yep I'm an adult now and dealing with it', and it works really really well at making my complexion look healthy, moist and firm. There's no good age to start using antiage products, but there definitely is in my experience a good product to start with :)

I have just started to use. Still now I did not find visible differences. I don’t find any irritation or rashes. It’s effect still normal. Maybe I will notice changes after long term uses.
