Ordered,and came in few days, installed in 1h (with beer in hand) time. Powerful,do its job. One star off because 1- the hole for exhaust tube is bigger than standard 115mm 2- they should include free carbon filter at least to see how it works fully. Overall good purchase.

good delivery time ,well presented a good price only issue is have to buy a filter however i understand that this keeps the price down for us. This unit is quickly installed by the fitter but difficult for the diy man Good quality

The hood itself looks smart, was quite easy to install (by a qualified electrician) and it works well though is quite noisy, the light is nice and bright. However, when it came to fitting the (supposedly) compatible filter, my poor electrician pal was about ready to hurl it through the window. No way would it attach as per instructions and he ended up fixing it in place with loaded of duct tape! It works, but not looking forward to when it eventually needs changing!

This was a replacement for an old extractor fan that had died. It is an accurate fit for the 600mm aperture & comes fitted with a 13 amp plug top (which I removed, to use a fused spur) & about 1metre of mains cord. The fitting process can be awkward, but I overcame this by "spragging" it in place against the hob with two pieces of wood, whilst the securing screws were fitted. In operation it is reasonably quiet, effective & provides a good, if somewhat harsh down light from the LED built-in lamp. I like the glass visor, as it's not too big - my old one was bigger & a bit of a hazard. There was a minor bit of delivery bending to the grill on the front, but this was easily fixed & overall, for the price, I am happy with my purchase.

Purchasing a replacement cooker hood is not as easy as it used to be. Cooker hoods were fairly standard in operational design and very much a like for like replacement. This certainly isn’t the case now. The hood outlet size can vary between 100mm, 120, 125 and 150mm. The top outlet position can also be in slightly different positions. They also come with a fitted mains plug, which once cut off passes the point of not being able to return the item. This Russell Hobbs unit is no different and ease of fitting depends on your existing installation. You may need an outlet reducer/adapter, if your existing outlet hose is not 120mm. The outlet is set further back than some makes, so you will have to increase the size of the hole in the overhead cupboard. I was unable to use the recommended fixing positions, so made my own by drilling holes in the side panels. The top and bottom of the unit do not run parallel (140mm back to 130mm front). Installation aside, the unit performs reasonably well. On setting number 2 the noise level is not bad and is an average setting for every day use. If you burn the toast and need setting 3, it is louder but ok for short time use. The light is l.e.d. and is standard these days. I like the look of the rounded front. Many makes look too “boxy”. I also like the black painted textured finish.
