This seems like a great idea. But if your hair is fine, and long, it will get miserably tangled in this tool. And you will end up breaking your hair (or pulling it out) to get it out of the clips. It might curl your hair, but by the time you drag it through your hair trying to remove it, your hair will be straight. It doesn't matter if you wound your hair around the clip, or just used it as a clamp next to your scalp. Removing it is a real problem. This is just not for me or my hair.

Gives nice Curls that lasts long

I gave these a thorough try before writing…actually a couple of thorough tries. I would NEVER use these as a curler to wrap hair around them, even though the instructions say you can. As many reviewers have testified, your hair will get snagged and damaged by the ferocious grippers. However, they are safe to use to give your hair a little lift. There is a video showing how you place them close to the roots. You don’t need many…maybe 2 or 3. Instructions say use on dry hair. For more effect you can use a design foam (such as Joico) or hair spray at the roots. Also, applying heat from a hair dryer, followed by cool setting at the roots will increase the effect. So your hair will have a little lift instead of being flat as a pancake. If you use the mentioned products, the lift will last longer. So these do have some effect, although it is not dramatic. My hair is naturally straight so I don’t know how they would work on curly hair.

Smaller than I thought! These clips are easy to use but do add volume to my hair!

Oh my dear goodness gracious. I have never used anything that tangled so badly in my hair in my entire life. I have long thick hair. I simply clipped them in my hair for some volume. Twice, so far, I've had to painfully and somewhat gently untangle hair that I did NOT even put around the clip. It was HORRIBLE and painful. I grew up using pink sponge rollers and brush rollers. They were a CAKE walk compared to this torture device. What volume I got was destroyed but removing the clips. THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY AWFUL and WILL damage and break your hair. Tips to make it better greatly appreciated.. This was an awful experience.. extremely painful

I’m a girly always searching for volume and these actually provide life at the roots!

So these clips DO add height and volume my fine, thin, slippery natural hair. I needed to practice the best way to separate my hair on the crown of my head and put the clips on those sections. Sometimes I put them on my damp hair while I am blow drying. I have put the clips in on my dry hair on the days I do not shampoo. Overall, I would recommend trying the set of 2 first to see if it works for you.
