A beautiful love story about two young people and their deep-rooted love for each other. I found the main characters, Kawai and Thomas, to be very likable and connectable, they pulled me in and I couldn't wait to read what was next. An exceptional debut novel! Congratulations, and just like in the story, I can't wait to read what's next!

He and his bunk mate, Lance, try to make the best of their time outside of training. Lance finally convinces straight laced Thomas to go out and talk to the woman he’s been watching from a distance. When Thomas and Kawai finally talk and date, the two fall quickly in love. But their romance is short lived as the attack on Pearl Harbor splits them apart and shatters their dreams for the future.
