Ibasso makes such incredible equipment!
This really isn't too much different in sound over the DC03 but it is still worth having because of the 4.4mm connection and the difference in power, which that power is so clean it doesn't sound much different than the DC03 just a louder version. But I still absolutely see the value of having it because of the other differences I've mentioned. It looks almost identical, there is the addition of green which I wish I could have found because it looks amazing! I also think(it seems like it) an extra option comes up on the app when you plug it on to your android phone(I can't speak about apple). It sounds ridiculously clear and just so balanced, imaging and extension, layering everything is just flawless and as if you'd probably be if you were recording with the artist. Nothing seems bloated or overdone. That's why I can't resist ibasso. It's built very solid and the connections click so solidly when you have them in place and it is also so easy to use, just like plug and play unless you appreciate the fine tuning of certain effect type things in an app then there is that too, I think that offers L and R balance too and some other finer detail things that aren't so necessary to me as it comes fine to me.Buy it and please enjoy, best recommendation. :)

Great Product
This thing sounds great! I run it from my iPhone using Apple Music to my Musical Fidelity V90 Amp running my outdoor speakers. People are blown away by the sound! The only reason I dock it one star is that it sucks the life out of my iPhone battery. Otherwise it is a great product.

Another great iBasso dongle.
You simply can't go wrong with this DAC. It offers a great neutral and clear sound. The tuning is wonderful. The bass response is fantastic. It's all very solid from the build to the sound produced. Onboard volume is a great convenience. I thought I might miss the MQA, but, no. The output is wonderful. Using on my M1 Mac with some special IEMs and it's a rush. Easier to use on my lap with my Mac than the great Hip DAC 2 because of it's size and simple connection. Overall, a lovely item, and the price is right too.

Sounds excellent
I cannot believe how good this sounds at this price range. The incremental volume control is a nice touch.BTW it’s not clear in the description but this comes with a usb c to usb c and usb c to lightening cable so us iPhone users can use it.

So disappointed!
Bought this to replace my DC06 that stopped working. I originally was looking for the DC06, but it's been discontinued, so I went with the DC04. First of all, I use this with my desktop computer. And I loved the DC06, especially because you can control the volume using your keyboard. Well, that feature does not exist on the DC04 and you have to use the buttons on this tiny device for the volume. It comes with a 3 inch cable, so I have to reach the back of my mac pro to lower and raise the volume. What a POS! I hate it even though it sounds great. I'm back to using my head phone jack for audio.

Disappointed….
I loved the sound and control it provided to my iems and headphone, but my DC04 Pro had issues with routine but intermittent audio output loss. I had to remove power and plug it back into my phone for audio output to resume to my iems or headphone. I could not isolate the problem to the phone or my app settings, Amazon Music, the latest Ibasso App, or cable. I have sadly initiated a return due this problem…

Exceeded my hopes and expectations!
Background about me: I have been enthusiastic about audio in general and especially in headphones/ iems. Throughout the past 12 years I have owned headphones that range in price between $70 and $1200 including the Sennheisers, Beyers, Shures, Audio Technicas, Klipsch etc. I use tidal with UAPP or apple music.Review: I have been looking for a dac/ amp to pair with my Senn ie 300, it's an easy to drive iem, but it's very revealing and can scale up significantly with better sources. I used to use the old dac magic xs with it, I had no major complaint with that pair, but the treble was not resolving enough, and could be a bit harsh or unnatural, and the soundstage wasn't the best and imaging left more to desire. After doing my own homework, I landed on the DC04 pro, it ticked some important points for me, especially the physical volume buttons. Also, it has the CS43131 DAC chip, not only one, but two. This chip back in 2017 or 2018 was used in $800 dacs. Having two of those in $120 dac/ amp seemed intruiging to me.Upon receiveing the package, I noticed the package wasn't re-enforced enough to give it more proper protection, but mine fortunately came intact.Listening impressions:While listening to it for the first time, I was blown away by how natural, clear, and airy this dac was. But my initial impression was that the treble was a bit more prominent than what I usually like or consider neutral, and the sound signature was a bit too bright/ lean for my liking. Next, I downloaded the UAC and experimented with a few settings, it turns out that by default, this dac is set at high gain, and the ie 300 are easy to drive, so it was getting too much power, switching that toggle to mid/low gain changed everything. This dac is suddenly magnificent. The UAC is really important to have, especially if you have easy to drive iems (bad luck for iphone users). Next, I decided to buy a better cable for the new boy, I bought the ddhifi usbc/ usbc, I so highly recommend doing this since you will notice an improvement in sound quality (better cables reduce jitter and transmit better power and give a more secure grip, totally worth it for $16).With my set up ready, these iems have never sounded better. Sound is very natural, neutral, airy, has fantastic soundstage and spectacular imaging while having a very effortless delivery. Mids and vocals are so clear, best vocals I have heard from a dac/amp. Treble is spot on, sounds very real (this is a very hard thing to achieve), the treble alone belongs to +$600 dacs, not $120, amazing!Bass is well balanced, Mid bass is great, sub bass could use a very slight boost under 50khz, though, and it could be a bit tighter (I know these attributes are immediately fixed if you use a balanced cable which I don't have at the moment) (UPDATE: I have tried it balanced, and yes the bass got tighter the way I love it, but also the soundstage got bigger, and the overall sound screams precision). So do I recommend it? I say run and get it (unless you are an iphone user with a very sensitive and especially bright iem), it has far exceeded my expectations and I thought this level of sound quality was reserved for the $600+ dac/ amps, it's in my opinion the best dac/ amp you can buy under $200, and for $120 it's a no brainer. There hasn't been a song I have listened to with the DC04 pro that didn't reveal something new I have missed for years listening to them, unbelievable.
