Q: Color is the natural color blue or is this plant dyed blue?

It is dyed blue as most very colorful orchids are. It is very vibrant and pretty though.

Q: How large is the base of the pot for each of the sizes?

About 3.5 inches. I measured it. Wider at top.

Q: Do I need to water the plants when I first unboxed it?

I tipped over the pot and plant to check for standing water (be very careful!) and after that I put a finger in the pot and felt for moisture-when I discover the potting mix to be dry I water it with slightly warm water. I water my orchids once a week, wait a few minutes and drain any excess water out of the pots
