Aluminium 50mm Quick Release Plate QR Clamp Fits Arca-Swiss Standard for Tripod Ballhead

My use for this might be a little different to some people's. I bought the amazing Velbon Super 8 monopod which is tiny, lightweight but extends to a huge size. However it is only fitted with a male thread to screw directly into the camera tripod mount. As I use the Peak Design system and tripod plate (Arca Swiss style) it would have meant removing this each time I needed to use the monopod, then reinstalling it afterwards. I could use the lightweight ball head from my travel tripod but thats a bit of faff. I saw this item on Amazon and asked the question - will it fit my monopod. I got several answers to say yes but none explained how. I took the chance and bought this item and it fits fine. My query, which was unanswered was that the monopod has a male thread and so does this quick release platform. However, this platform is connected using a fitted screw in the top which protrudes from the bottom to form the mount. The screw is easily removed and this leaves a 2 sided thread on the mount. You simply screw in the monopod from the bottom instead. The item is well machined from metal and has 3 very usable spirit levels built in. These are on the outside (2 on the platform and the third on the tightening nut). Most heads have spirit levels which are usually hidden once a camera is on, making them difficult to use but these are very clear. The platform easily fits my arca swiss style Peak Design plates. Be aware the item does not come with a plate so you will need to have your own or buy one separately This is not a 'head' but it does pretty much the same thing for me. The ain difference is that it doesnt include the ball device for angling or adjusting the camera position. ON a monopod this isnt an issue as it is so easy to twist or tilt the whole thing. The only thing I can't do it angle for a portrait style shot, but I would rarely use a monopod for this (and would use an L bracket in that case). It would also be ideal to modify a tripod ball head to accept Arca Swiss type pates, for example a Manfrotto RC2 or a generic head Obviously this platform adds weight to my ultra lightweight monopod, but it increases its usability so much. The quality metal construction, 3 usable spirit levels, large rubber cladded tightening knob, relatively light weight and very low price, not to mention how adaptable it is make this a clear bargain, and it just isnt possible to give less than 5 stars

It's solidly made, the knob has a rubber finish making it easy to turn with cold or wet (or cold and wet) fingers, essential for me as I take photos of wild flowers. There's a pointless sprit-level, but then they all have so I can't mark it down for wasting money. Very reasonably priced. Recommended.

I bought this adaptor so that I could modify the gimbal mount I use to take my DSLR vertically. It works really well and the design is strong and well made. I haven’t found any negative issues having used it for a while now. The knob to tighten the slide is very positive and has a nice rubber grip.

This mount is very nicely made for the price, and mine operates in a nicely damped manner, with an easy to use rubber clamp screw that feels solid in operation. There are 2 spirit levels to get things nice and level, and the unit fits the swiss standard camera plate I have. Overall it functions very well and genuinely feels like it should have cost me more.

The item is very strong but I found one problem when the camera is afixed the bubbles are quite hard to see apart from that it's a great product 8/10

The mount is high quality with three spirit levels - mine was shipped without the mounting screw, screw adapter and allen key - hence only 4 stars.

I’m happy with my purchase of these QR plates. They are great value and they do the job. Here’s the but. The rubber finger grip for tightening the clamp is not properly attached to the metal knob it’s part of. Thus you have to grip it very tightly when twisting to close the clamp. You may not have tightened it as much as you think you have. This nearly cost me a very expensive drop. But once I spotted the problem I simply pay extra attention when tightening. And I check, and recheck that I have a tight connection before starting to work with it. I tried applying glue to the rubber to fix it to the metal and that failed. I may just remove the rubber grip and that way I will have a more tactile feel on the metal knob to ensure I have tightened it sufficiently. I’m still happy with my spen.

La he colocado en una rótula de bola hidráulica de manfroto, y tenía serias dudas de que funcionase bien, y ahora lo estoy utilizando en el trípode de carbono con la cámara, el grip y el 100-400, sin problemas ninguno. Me voy a comprar mas para cambiar todas las rótulas con este adaptador

Passt sehr gut auf mein Stativ. Wichtig ist die "Lägsnut" auf der Unterseite. Ohne diese wäre das Teil auf meinem Stativ nicht zu befestigen. Material und die Verarbeitung wirken sehr hochwertig. Nur die mitgelieferte Schraube passte nicht in mein Gewinde. Aber da konnte ich ja die vorhandene Schraube verwenden. Sehr guter Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Die Klemme tut, was sie soll, nämlich Prismen-Schienen klemmen. Die Verarbeitung ist sauber und präzise. Die Klemme ist bei mir seit einigen Monaten im Einsatz und ich bin sehr zufrieden.
