Fixed my Burham boiler pressure problems.
50 year old Burnham boiler was having major pressure problems with gage running into the red. Bleeding off water would bring down for a while. Old pressure tank was about 20 years old and just copied the model numbers off it and sure enough they still make the same model with same specs. Took longer to empty the system of water than it did to replace this pressure tank. Simple unscrew old and screw new one on with teflon tape. Pressure now stabilizes and works like new. Probably saved myself several hundred dollars for this diy rather than calling a furnace company to come out.

Easy to Install
Exact replacement for my old one that lasted 17 years. MUCH less pricey here than in town. I hope this one lasts at least half as long. These are very easy to install, just be aware that when you old one is full of water, it will be very heavy! My old one fell, splashed water into my control panel and shorted it. So, good idea to shut power at the breaker.

Expansion tank
The tank arrived as scheduled. It was the same as the tank that needed replacement. The price was reasonable. I got it installed pretty easily and seems to be functioning- but it's only been one day.

Perfect replacment. Be careful when removing old tank.
My furnace was leaking water out of the excess pressure valve. I replaced the valve and it stopped most of the leaking, but it would still dribble out water when the furnace turned on. This is a key indicator that the balder in the expansion tank has failed. This tank is the perfect replacement, indeed my old tank was the original from +25 years ago when the house was originally built (I am the 3rd owner) was also Amtrol. One word of caution for any DIY'er...be careful when removing this tank. The volume is 5 gallons and when the balder as failed/ruptured it will be full of water and it will weigh +40lb. When removing the old tank it must be properly restrained so that it does not come crashing down...even better would be to have a second person to safely hold and safely lower the tank while the other person screws it out of the fitting. Not a drop of water leaking in +3 months since replacing.
