When I opened the box, I thought this looks like a set one would find in an expensive hotel or resort. I searched Blue Lagoon Iceland and found out that is exactly what this is. It is included with the stay at the retreat which looks amazing. This set of serum and face cream are very expensive. Currently $90 for a small size of each.I really like these. A lot.The serum is plumping and leaves my skin looking glossy. I checked the ingredients against the EWG and did all the research and they’re really solid. The base is seawater + glycerin + propanediol (hydrating). The actives are ascorbyl glucoside (stable vitamin C derivative, brightening & antioxidant), sodium hyaluronate (hydration). A really nice vitamin C serumThe cream is extraordinary. It (or the combination of the two) really do diminish the visibility of fine lines and leave a smooth texture. It made my skin appear plumper and more radiant. As with the serum, the ingredients here are top tier. The humectants - glycerin, propanediol, pentylene glycol, sodium hyaluronate (hydration). The emollients & barrier support - squalane, plum seed oil, olive oil, shea butter, soybean oil, sunflower oil. The actives include niacinamide (brightening, barrier repair), ectoin (anti-stress molecule, protects skin from oxidative/environmental damage), ceramide NP (barrier repair). I have attached pics from the box for a full list of ingredients. Both products use sodium levulinate and sodium anisate which are gentle, natural preservatives.These arrive boxed as pictured with a drawstring bag included. The serum is in a glass dropper bottle. If I had one thing (a little) bad to say, it’s that the serum is very thin which makes it hard to not drip it when trying to apply from the dropper to the fingertips. You just need to be extra careful and take it a drop or two at a time. The cream is in a glass jar with a plastic lid.I believe this product rightfully earned its Allure Best of Beauty award. It’s out of my price range, but a great product nonetheless.

It's easy to apply and distribute, but is a little sticky and feels very rich and a bit heavy and it takes a bit to absorb. It makes my skin feel hydrated and nourished.The white cream is of a firmer consistency and is very rich and heavy as well. It also takes a while to absorb because it is so rich and heavy. In fact, I personally would not use it in summer because it is so heavy, that I can see myself become sweaty and clogged. It is a very good moisturizer for dry skin though and I can see myself using it more often in winter since it delivers a great amount of hydration and moisturizes my skin very well.Both products have a scent to it that is not very pleasant, but "natural ", it has a slightly yeasty note.All in all, these products are very effective and a little goes a long way, but they're still very expensive ($90 at time of review for the set with 5ml serum and 15ml cream).

I was thankful to try this Blue Lagoon skincare, but still felt a bit critical of the high price for a "Discovery Set" sample size. I've also been taking care of my skin with more affordable skincare, so wasn't sure I'd be able to tell whether Blue Lagoon causes its own unique "radiance" as it claims. That said, this brand really does seem to contain a high performance blend unique to their BL Complex (microalgae, silica, electrolytes), niacinamide, squalene, ceramides, ectoin, etc. I'm using it on the nights I'm not using retinol, and it seems to penetrate deep into my skin, compared to other creams. What's different about this formula is that I'm usually getting a "glowing" skin effect with topical oils and surface texture exfoliation, whereas this BL cream is having that effect from within, so that my skin is glowing because it looks healthier and not just shinier. And this boost in radiance has even been noticeable on nights where I didn't get enough sleep.

It also includes a nice bag to put them in. The serum is for hydration and protection of the skin barrier and to diminish fine lines and wrinkles. The directions indicate to apply 4-6 drops morning and evening and to follow up with sunscreen or moisturizer. The cream targets signs of skin aging as it helps to diminish the visibility of fine lines, smooth texture, restore firmness, and support the skin barrier. Neither product has much smell to it. I think it is quite pricey at its current cost of 90 dollars. This is something that would definitely be a splurge for me. It does feel great on my skin and I quite like it, just not sure this is something I could purchase on a consistent basis. It arrived quickly and free from damage. 4.5 stars
