We were looking for an environmentally-conscious brand and are glad we found this one. It's worth the price. We've bought the smoked sardines in the past (they're yummy as well) and wanted to try the marinara this time. The sardines are well-processed and the tomato sauce is really delicious - cheaper brands can leave a funny after-taste. P.S. I never ever review products on demand or get discounts from companies; this is my honest consumer opinion.

Purchased for health requirements & they are delicious! Wish the Pantry sold a box of mixed sauces of sardines. Problem: when opening pull top ring I am often spattered with the sauce. Wear an apron or open inside a large see thru bag. I usually add Tabasco, lemon juice, splash of red wine vinegar, chives and or dill weed. Adds much to the flavor of mild marinara. I do like spicy flavorful food.

Pricey but tasty. That can probably be also said of competing products, but if you can budget these, this one in particular is a tasty and healthy option for a snack, or as an extra protein for breakfast.

I really like these sardines in marinara more than the sardines in olive oil. You miss out on the flavor of olive oil, but don't have to deal with the grease and the marinara provides enough flavor. I only wish the sodium content was a little lower. Get them with Subscribe & Save. The price ends up less than $2 per can. You won't find the sardines at a a grocery store for a better price than that.

First, I should say, I generally don't like fish but I'm trying to acquire the taste and eat more for health reasons. I bought these because I've been trying to eat more fish to get the Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DPA. Sardines are high in Omega 3's and low in mercury which is good. I had originally bought the wild planet sardines in olive oil but I did like them very much (again I'm not a fish guy). A number of people had told me sardines taste good with tomatoes. So I bought these and I think they taste way better. I actually like them. If you're like me, I would give these a try. These have 313 mg of EPA and 668 mg of DHA per can. Another good option if you're trying to get low mercury omega 3's are the wild planet anchovies (in water). Anchovies have even more Omega 3's by mass than sardines. I mix the anchovies with BBQ sauce and the melt sharp cheddar on top. It's good! Also, I've generally found wild planet canned fish tastes much fresher than other brands as though it had been canned much sooner after being caught. I would recommend their products in general. They are also sustainability caught. This and many of their products are processed in Vietnam.
