The best 'phones I've ever had for running (let's just hope they last!)
Long story short: I passed some perfectly good, reliable 'phones on to my wife, got a Taotronics replacement that ended up distorting constantly, and ended up getting these SoundPeats Q23s to replace the replacement.I've just completed a decent run with them and I have to say that so far, they're the best sports 'phones I've had.The good:- Exceptionally good fit once I changed to the largest set of gels in the pack. Ran for an hour in moderately strong wind (15-20 mph according to forecast) with mild rain and literally never once had to adjust them, and had no problems with the cable dragging when turning my head etc.- Very light, very comfortable and no annoying whistling when running into headwind (I've had that from previous 'phones!)- Easy pairing and no drop-outs- No distortion even on challenging tracks (very relieved about this)- Specs predict up to 7 hours playback which is pretty good compared to what I've had before- Tidy USB port with captive rubber cover that fits well.- Control buttons are small but well-placed and easy to operateThe bad:- Sound is good for sports 'phones but nothing special; a little lacking bass for my taste but I compensated for this in the player app.Bit of both:- Ambient noise isolation is average; I ran along the beach and could still hear the sea, windrush, the occasional seagull etc. On the plus side, I'll be able to wear these on roadside runs and hear approaching traffic.Bottom line is that they seem to be really good value (£16.99 a time of writing) for outdoor sporting use. Now I just need them to keep going for at least a year without any battery failures or sound degradation and I'll feel I've got my money's worth. I'll update this review if any disasters happen, but right now I'm very happy with my purchase.

Ok, not great
Sometimes, I find it hard to understand the 5* ratings I see. I did NOT receive these earphones as a gift or at a discount. They were bought with my hard-earned, and I hope this is an accurate and honest review. These earphones look and feel well made and would probably last many miles of running or cycling etc. They fit nicely and are adjustable in terms of the ear buds. The cord joining the 2 earbuds is of a good length. Not too short to make the item uncomfortable, nor too long that it gets in the way.Charging and set up were easy and hassle free. Now for the negative. And for me it's a big one. The sound quality in my opinion is terrible. Awful. It's very tinny, with no discernable bass. There is no depth and they remind me of an earpiece that came with the 1st transistor radio I bought as a teenager - Many many years ago. It would be acceptable for listening to talk radio, but music lovers should steer clear. I did manage to get reasonable (barely) results by downloading a third party equaliser.Ok, they are cheap, so i'll keep them as a set to use if there's any danger of damage or loss. I think I'm going to have to invest a decent amount of money to buy a set that is actually pleasurable to use.

Well made, attractive appearance, easy functionality, good sound quality - If you don't have aptX on your phone go for these
Overall: A good choice except if you can use aptX, in which case buy either Q9As or Q12s.Fit: I bought the Q12s initially, but had problems with them slipping out of my ears during exercise, so I got these instead: Completely secure and comfortable. A minor caveat is that the ear hooks are flexible but not conformable i.e. they can be bent but go back to the original shape unlike some other models.Sound: If you have an aptX enabled transmitting device (most modern Android phones, but not Apple) you will get better, clearer sound from headphones with a processor that can handle aptX,such as the CSR 8645. I believe the Q12s or Q9As (both of which I bought and are excellent) have the CSR 8645 chip.Otherwise these are as good as anything else, with the added benefit of producing a neutral sound (not set up to emphasise bass or treble) and certainly more than adequate for exercise purposes.Quality: Excellent. Box, accessories, build quality, finish, functionality, usablity. All are as good as you could ask for at this price point, and I would guess probably as good as headphones twice the price - the plastics, batteries and chip sets aren't going to be that different.
