best all rounder, customisable and rock-stable router out there
I bought this to extend the range of my ISP-supplied modem/wireless router, and to act as a wired repeater for one of my ethernet-only devices. Oh my, I did not anticipate falling in love! This is what a router should be. Compact, good price, and open firmware! It is easy to configure, although I did run into some hurdles with trying to connect it to my main router wirelessly - luckily with the combination of log files and ChatGPT I was able to figure out what the issue was! So far it is rock-stable, and easy to configure otherwise, whether you need it for VPN, TOR, or any other solution you can cook up! This satisfies my dream of a device being well-supported, easily and fully customizable, high quality and being stable, without needing to go down into the weeds too much, but actually letting you to do that if you're so inclined. The small size makes this an especially good contender for portability, as if I needed it on the go, I could easily chuck this in my backpack or even pocket it!

A Must-Have Portable Router for Travel and Home
The Beryl AX has been a game-changer for my internet setup. Whether I’m at home or on the go, this portable Wi-Fi 6 router delivers reliable, blazing-fast internet speeds of up to 3000 Mbps. The dual-band connectivity ensures a strong and stable signal, even with multiple devices connected. Setup was a breeze, and I love the added features like VPN cascading and AdGuard Home for enhanced privacy and ad-blocking. The inclusion of WPA3 security and IPv6 support adds peace of mind, making it future-proof. The 2.5Gbps WAN port is a fantastic bonus, allowing me to maximize high-speed connections where available. What really stands out is its compact size—it’s perfect for travel, but powerful enough to use at home. This router is ideal for streaming, working remotely, or just staying securely connected anywhere. I’m super impressed and highly recommend the Beryl AX to anyone looking for a portable yet robust Wi-Fi solution!

Can be complicated but does perform very well
I needed network access to my portable hard drive as my EE router no longer has this feature. This works very well but the setup isn't intuitive. As this is a router with all sorts of network uses, if you are network savvy then this would be no problem to setup I assume. It really needs a guided setup but there are lots of online resources to help and with a bit of trial and error I got it working in about half an hour for my specific needs. The range of this little guy is very impressive. I can pick it up anywhere in my home and get a very fast connection. It's stable and reliable so far. The build quality is very good and solid. It's compact and has a decent amount of port connections, including the all important USB 3 port that I needed to for network storage. If you are tech savvy then this is a great little mini router and reasonably priced too.

I bought this router to boost my Wi-Fi connection in order to use a vr properly without any frame rate problems and it was a fantastic solution! The GL-MT3000 is an outstanding compact router that delivers impressive performance considering its small size. Thanks to Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) support, the connection is fast, stable, and noticeably more efficient than older travel routers, even with multiple devices connected simultaneously. One of the strongest points of this device is its built-in VPN support (OpenVPN and WireGuard), which makes it ideal for travelers, remote workers, and privacy-conscious users. The ability to act as both a VPN client and server is a huge advantage and works reliably. Security features like WPA3 and modern DNS options add further peace of mind. Despite its advanced capabilities, the setup is straightforward for basic use, while more experienced users can take full advantage of the OpenWrt-based firmware to customize the network in depth. The router is lightweight, well built, and easy to carry, making it perfect for hotels, shared networks, or temporary home setups. Overall, the GL-MT3000 offers an excellent balance of performance, portability, and advanced features. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a powerful travel router or a flexible compact networking solution.

I'm not someone who usually leaves reviews, but I felt it was worth commenting on this particular item – the wireless travel router. I haven’t explored many of the advanced features (like VPN or file sharing), but for my needs, this device has been near perfect. I’ve been travelling between hotels and Airbnbs lately, and I use it as a bridge for the internet provided at each place. The big win for me is being able to set my WiFi name and password to match what I use at home, so all my devices connect automatically without needing to reconfigure them at every stop. Whether it’s my laptop, iPad, or phone, everything just works the moment I arrive and plug it in. It handles hotel login portals easily, whether it’s through a username and password or a web-based login. It also works fine with cabled internet connections. The signal range is much better than I expected for such a compact device. It’s whisper quiet, uses minimal power, and the user interface is simple and straightforward. It makes hopping from one accommodation to another much less painful from a tech setup perspective. If I had one minor complaint, it's that I can't find an option to view the total data usage across all connected devices. You can see individual device usage, which is helpful, but I’d love to be able to reset and track total data used per location – especially when dealing with limited WiFi quotas in Airbnbs or hotels. That aside, I’d highly recommend this device for anyone who travels regularly with multiple devices. It’s affordable, efficient, and genuinely makes life on the road a lot easier.
