Durable, fun to fly, and good realistic trainer for larger planes.
Great little airplane. Simple to fly in beginnner mode which limits your bank and climb angle, and exciting to fly in expert mode which gives you full authority. Nice to have legitimate three axis control of aileron, rudder, and elevator, unlike many cheaper RC planes. Very crash-damage resistant. I crashed this into a fence at nearly full speed. The battery flew out but once reinstalled, it flew just fine. Having the propeller in the rear protected from damage is key.

Great trainer, also crazy fun for experienced. Requires FAA registration and Remote ID module!
Great trainer, but also fun for stunts and tricks for advanced pilots, and it's a nice platform for playing around with an FPV camera. 1.1m = 43.3 inch wingspan. This is not a small airplane, and it's easy to see in the air. Flip the x-mitter to easy mode and take off, fly and land, just like in the simulator. Crazy easy for a 1st timer to fly solo after practicing with the simulator many times 1st. Highly recommend the Spektrum Ws2000 Wireless USB Dongle so you can use the included (or any) Spektrum transmitter with your PC RC flight simulator. After a couple of real flight sessions, I was able to switch the flight mode on the transmitter to 'expert' and do flips and rolls with no trouble. It was really fun to do acrobatic stuff with this plane! I'm surprised how similar it is to flying the simulator. Set it back to easy mode, and the big squishy tires and pusher prop in the back make it very forgiving for a beginner to land. I have yet to break anything on this plane after several flights as a complete novice. Just take your time, practice with the simulator first, and especially, fly in a place well suited for larger RC airplanes with lots of space. If you are in the US, BE AWARE THIS RC AIRPLANE IS LEGALLY CONSIDERED A DRONE by the FAA (yes, I know it's an airplane, but it's government, so 'nuff said), and because of its weight, you MUST REGISTER yourself and this craft with the FAA as well as purchase, install and register a Remote ID unit for this airplane, unless you fly it at one of the FAA registered "FRIA" sites, which are exempt from these rules. Again, this is airplane DOES NOT include the legally required Remote ID unit that must also be installed and registered to your craft on the FAADroneZone website. Tons of them on Amazon. I bought the tiny Ruko Remote ID unit for $30, and you can easily locate and track your RC airplane with your smartphone with free apps. Just make sure you go to the FAADroneZone and 1) Register yourself 2) register your aircraft 3) Register your Remote ID unit's serial number to your aircraft. Easy! Done! Then make sure to write your US representatives in the House and Senate and tell them how amazingly stupid it is to designate a simple, nonautonomous, foam RC airplane as a "drone" and force it to be registered, basically killing the hobby and making it harder and more expensive for kids, STEM students, and students of all ages to learn about and enjoy this technology as we have for decades in the US, without incident. If you want to avoid this, stick with aircraft under 250 grams, which requires no registration with the FAA nor a remote ID module. All in all, this is a GREAT trainer as well as a more advanced flier for stunts and tricks. You really can't go wrong with this airplane. It's also very popular for use with FPV systems. 100% recommend.

Really Great Plane!
This is a fantastic plane offering excellent durability and flight experience for beginner to advanced pilots. Mine arrived ready to fly. This was unexpected. The Spektrum A630 receiver and transmitter were included. The plane was ready to fly in 15 minutes. They are so popular at my field that I had to paint my tail section red to keep track of it in the air!

Great flying airplane.
Best rc training airplane, great price, this is my fourth one. They fly great, I converted one to be a tail drager and one with a fan jet engine.

Not for a beginner.
This is a fine plane but I would not recommend it for a beginner. If you land poorly at too steep of an angle, the front landing gear will do severe damage to the fuselage. It will be a difficult and expensive repair.

Best trainer money can buy
This is a 10/10 but for anyone interested in the rc plane hobby, this is by far the best trainer you can get. The size is great, it’s tons of fun, and easy to land in beginner mode. To make sure your landings are successful I would strongly recommend cutting the throttle completely and slowly bringing it down to the ground. The durability isn’t the best, but the wings can take a beating and still fly just fine. I did have to get a replacement fuselage after awhile, which runs 70$ but it’s fairly simple getting all the components out of the old fuselage and into the new one. That was after many crashes though, this is definitely the best bang for your buck when it comes to planes, you get a brushless motor, a decent transmitter, and this thing can fly fast! From what I’ve seen top speed is 50mph and the plane can reach about 400ft. Make sure to go to a big open space to fly, because of its size it’s not really a closed park kind of plane. The battery life is decent, 15-20 minutes of run time which isn’t the best but it’s good for beginners. I have never flown before and I’m happy I chose the aero scout as my first flyer! Not only does it fly with ease but it has the room to grow with intermediate and expert, and it can do all the fancy tricks on top of that. If your looking to get your first plane, this is the one no doubt!

Get it to learn to fly RC planes and keep it for being fun to fly
It is such a great plane to learn on. It is easy to assemble, it flies great, the prop is protected, and it is easy to repair. You can get floats for it, and it can do acrobatics.

RTF = Ready to fly ? NOT
If someone like me buys a trainer RC airplane, it's probably because he doesn't have much experience with RCs... So, this someone looks for RTFs (so called Ready To Fly RC airplanes). They cannot even glide as you need to purchase a battery and a charger. Oh... there is also a little bit of assembly, but it's ready to fly, as advertised. Yeah, right ! When you look at the bad reviews for the Spektrum batteries and chargers, you look for better ratings. When they arrive, they do not fit your Hobbyzone Scout. Ayayayayayaya... Now, how dumb can a management be for not offering a genuine "Ready To Fly" airplane ? The little assembly is no big deal and there is a great video to help but having to go through unnecessary aggravation to complete the "Not Ready To Fly" airplane is very deceiving. Update : I received a Spektrum Charger and a couple of Spektrum batteries... Guess what : they don't fit ! After 4 returns, I decided that enough was enough. I am so fed up with Hobbyzone that I returned the whole package : airplane, charger and batteries. They don't deserve my money. One of the worst buying experience I have had especially for something that is supposed to be fun.
