Lovely Garden Clock
Love this clock & even though people have said the hands are a bit thin, when setting it up, it takes little effort the ensure they don't clash. Looks fantastic on my fence & have even got a solar spot light on it for the evenings. Great product, for a great price. I'm really happy with my purchase.

Looks great and keeps good time
Looks great and keeps good time. Hands are a bit flimsy so may not withstand high winds so will take it in over winter just to be safe

Good value and quality.
Item delivered on time. Very pleased with quality and functionality keeps good time. No problems with brackets one is located at the 12 o’clock position. Clock arms seem a bit flimsy however we had storm roll through the night it was installed everything still working next day.

Very poor design
It's very pretty but for the intended use – telling the time - it's about as much good as a chocolate teapot. As others have noted, the hands are incredibly flimsy, so much so the leaf of a minute hand jams behind the hour hand every revolution – which means it works fine for anything up to an hour and then needs intervention to rectify the problem. Other posters have suggested this an issue if it's mounted in a windy spot. I've got mine in a very protected corner, so I don't think that's the problem – it's just a poor design. I could send it back but frankly, the effort of climbing up, taking it off, finding suitable packaging and going through the rigmarole of the returns process is more trouble than it's worth for the £45. So I guess I'll let this shady bunch of chancers win. I think it might be possible to affect some sort of retrofit to make it work – either with spacers on the mechanism or by creating more rigid hands (I'm thinking perhaps an epoxy resin coating on the back) but I think the better solution is to buy a better clock.

Beautiful. But flawed.
This is a lovely looking clock and the time mechanism works very well and I'm not sending it back. I'd just like to get that on the record up front. My problem is with the design of the minute and hour hands. The clock's been up for about a fortnight and in that time we've had what can only be described as 'breezes'. The problem is, that the hands are so incredibly flimsy (I've come across stiffer cardboard) that a breeze will blow the minute hand behind the framework of the clock face. As soon as that's happened, time passing jams it in ever tighter and... stopped. The hour hand has bent with the breeze and then jams in from of the minute hand aaaand.... stopped. It's a lovely clock and I'm not sending it back, but I will have to look at reinforcing or replacing the hands with 'stiffer' items, but then I'm lucky, because I can turn a hand (get it!) to that kind of thing. I have to question whethe I should have to having spent £50 on a clock with a £5 mechanism though? I also know now, that whatever I do to the hands, the clock will have to head for the shed or the garage in the autumn, there's no way it'll cope with a 'northern' autumn/winter! and I have to say, even though the mechanism will work outdoors, I'm wondering if it's really designed to be an indoor clock. Just a 'heads up' and I hope it's helpful Somewhere in the customer recommendations, someone suggested that if the clock is outside it should be in a shaded spot. I agree as far as it goes, but really, it needs to be out of the wind to work, because blown from any angle and those hands will bend!! UPDATE: For those who can turn their hand to a bit of DIY, the hands can be reinforced with the use of two junior hacksaw blades (yes really) one fixed to the back of each hand with decent epoxy resin. The blade for the minute hand needs cutting down by an inch or so and the lugs that hold the blade to the hacksaw frame need twisting out with pliers, but nothing complicated. The blades weigh next to nothing but are comfortably strong enough for the job required an the clock now seems to be breeze-proof at least.
