Good Morning Yoga: A Pose-By-Pose Wake Up Story: 2 (Good Night Yoga) : Mariam Gates: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Two year old enjoys both doing the poses and reading the book - We have found this to be a great book for encouraging our little one to start learning about yoga. She is just two. She really enjoys both doing the poses and reading the book. When we ordered it, we hoped that she would learn what yoga was (she knew the word because mummy does yoga but wasn't sure what it meant) and would enjoy giving it a go. The book has delivered just that for her. As she gets older, I imagine the story will become more poignant to her. I particularly like that the story is focused on nature from volcanoes to trees etc. She also really likes the pictures that prompt her to remember the different poses and moves to do. We use this regularly and it has also encouraged her to share her yoga moves at other times without the book too. She also likes to encourage anyone who she can convince to join her in her yoga practice. Review: brilliant illustrations, a great start for little ones - Fabulous book, brilliant illustrations, a great start for little ones.

Wonderful, well and simply written, pleasingly illustrated book to encourage a happy day! To me, helping our children (and ourselves!) to greet each day -- to stretch, to breathe, to have an "attitude of gratitude" -- is one of the most important things we can do. Marian Gates' book encourages just this happy, positive approach to morning -- no small thing to help our kiddos get off to a good daily, can-do start! Yes, "Good Morning YOGA" encourages a happy attitude of "I've got this!" Good Morning YOGA makes, in my opinion and recent experiences, a perfect gift for any child /new baby in a household that does yoga or which might be amenable to this stretch-breathe-greet approach, even if parents don't "do yoga".
