Snowdonia Cheese Gift Box (No.1)

Lovely taster for Christmas, a good topic of conversation! I have given this a five star rating because the cheeses are very high quality, and certainly something to talk about over the Christmas dinner table. However, I have to say that they would not be my choice for frequent buying. The mature cheddar was not very mature at all, and like all of the cheeses was very creamy, not really my choice for a cheddar. I was hoping for a more traditional cheddar to be included and certainly something with more bite. Same really with the mature red Leicester, concentrated on creamy rather than mature, if you get what I mean. The Red Leicester and chilli was fascinating, it had such a strong chilli flavour it was like eating solid chilli con carne! Amazing flacour. I am afraid I didn't like the cheddar and ginger or garlic variants. The cheddar and pickly was delicious but again was creamy but not like any cheddar I have ever tasted before. It was barely a hard cheese. So all in all, a fantastic fun and deserves five stars for that, but not something I would buy again. I would love to see a more tradition hard, mature chedder included.

My brother introduced me to this firstly with the black bomber. I have given this as gifts, and I treat myself now and again and always get it for us at Christmas. They do sell single and mixed, if you like cheese trust me you are going to absolutely love this. I am totally addicted to this quality cheese. I would most definitely recommend this very tasty product.

Good quality cheese

Been buying these cheeses for a while for all their different flavours. However a word of warning, do not fall into the trap as I did thinking that the same wax colour means you are getting the same cheese as you had before ! I now tell myself to read the descriptions properly as in a previous delivery I had an orange coloured truckle that was flavoured with whisky. This set of 6 included the Truffle, Black Bomber and an Orange coloured wax one that I automatically took for granted was Whisky flavour. Not so, last night, with some crackers I opened up the orange coloured wax one, found it very sweet and no taste of whisky, thought 'odd' - checked the label and found it was Orange and Ginger. However I could not taste the ginger. The reason I have not given 5 stars is because a couple of the cheeses do not seem to be as mature as before, i.e. they appear young and thus the depth of flavour is not yet there.

A nice variety of excellent cheeses. They are a decent price (I paid £26.75), and come securely packaged. My only gripe would be that they were delivered with ice bags that were completely warm, so the cheeses were slightly warmer than I would like at delivery. That said, it was the end of a very hot day, so it was to be expected. They survived once I popped them in the fridge. I think they would make a lovely gift to anyone fond of cheese, or maybe a nice selection for a cheese and wine night!

Package delivered quickly and efficiently. This was a birthday gift and recipient is so far delighted and amazed at various flavours of the cheeses, he has not tried all flavours yet, I deducted one star with regard to flavours as one he has tried is "too spicy", other was very nice. I am very happy I bought this product, it maybe slightly pricey but it was a gift and a good choice for a cheese lover. I would recommend.

I bought a gift box and also additional cheeses for Christmas gifts for family members, ordering two for our fridge. The cheeses are well dated and were well received. I can only review ours for taste as ordinary Christmas bought cheese being eaten before our gift. We had the Cheddar with Ginger and Garlic and Herb. Garlic and Herb superb - yet to try the Cheddar with Ginger. Excellent service through from ordering to receiving cheeses.
