An effortless clean and effective sweep, simplicity of emptying, economically a winner.
Adequate and excellent when compared with so many electric and or 'smart' suction cleaners which konk out within a year to 18 months costing hundreds of pounds. Made in China. This 'dumb' way of cleaning is the smartest of all. Easy-clean, easy use and effective. The only criticism is one of design in that it's necessary to use a brush to clear out under low tables, etc. However, the other option on here looked great in all respects except purchasers found the handle snapped off! So, I'd give it a 4 for what is available. Recommended.

Ewbank verses battery hand held and wired vac for small debris and spillages.
Ewbank - Model 830 Manual carpet sweeper. I had a carpet sweeper years ago before being dragged along the ‘suction’ route. Noise as I get older becomes more and more a issue, most of what I buy now is not electric or petrol. I did very nearly buy a small hand held re-chargeable vac to just pick up minor dust / bits that are just a pain to get the big vac out for, but after deliberating for over 6 months about the cost, the noise, the environmental issue (charging / disposing of batteries) I decided to go for a Ewbank. I had used my sister-in-laws a few weeks before when I was drilling some small holes in her walls and the re-chargeable battery in her vac and the spare were flat! I was surprised how well the Ewbank picked up even plaster dust - not perfect but pretty good. I have used my purchase a few times now and am glad I bought it. it does minor jobs very well indeed and is so much easier to get out than my wired vacs, which sometimes would put me off cleaning up minor spills and fluff. One comment on Amazon from a buyer said it was not good on tiled / lino / wooden floors although he did rate it on carpet, BUT in fact the instructions clearly state this is not intended for solid floors, and that the HI / LO settings are for close pile of heavy pile carpets and on those it works well. It is now a few months since my purchase and I use it more or less daily to keep on top of things, mainly a black carpet which is a through route from kitchen so gets a lot of use. I am still delighted with it, and being so light t is easy to get out and use. One thing you need to watch is emptying it, as it picks up more than you think which, if you ignore will start depositing things back on the floor. This is not a fault, quite the opposite as it shows just how efficient it is! It is now October 2019, 12 months since my purchase and I am still delighted with this, I use it daily and all I said in my reviews above still holds true, a great and handy product. September 2020 and the Ewbank is still serving me well, I have only used my vac in the room that I mostly use the Ewbank 5 times in a year, just to get into the edges where the carpet meets skirting board. I think it worth mentioning the reliabilty, since purchase nothing has broken or fallen off, and nothing is showing any sign of wear.

Ewbank sweeper
Dislikes; Handle has a tendency to fall down too easily when parked which if near a plain wall can mark, also ornaments are at risk of being knocked off if near...Top section of handle, (the plastic bit at the very top) twists round when it ought to be fixed. On carpets with medium to long pile I have found it easier to use the setting for short pile carpets due to the drag caused and the judder when pulling the sweeper back. Not as effective on carpet tiles as carpets I have found. Likes; Is a rubust product, easy to empty and it does what it is meant to do, pick up things from the carpets easily without a tendancy to "throw" them out again. shame about the handle falling over so easily, can be frustrating having to bend down so often to return it to the upright position. Would have earned five stars but for that design fault, hence just four

Handle not sturdy
The top section keeps coming out of the middle section. Tried tapping it together, but loses it rigidity and falls apart. Sweeps well, but not very useful with shortened handle.

How Did Carpet Sweeper s Go Off My Radar?
I don't know that carpet sweepers were still made! I had a cordless vacuum that was useless. Suction not good; battery not lasting long; takes around 4 hours to charge. I didn't want to throw good money away again. Looking on Amazon, carpet sweeper s are still made! I had a look at the different ones being sold and settled on this Ewbank model. I chose this because this is the only one that had a leaver on the top to empty the mechanism underneath the carpet sweeper, so your hands stay clean. Other good bits of design is that there is also a switch to go from thicker pile to shorter pile carpets. This carpet sweeper picks up well, better than my old cordless vacuum and uses no electricity or any batteries saving on our planets precious resources. I have a Jack Russell that leaves crumbs after eating his treats and he sheds his coat every now an then. This carpet sweeper is compact in size, lightweight and sweeps well. It does the job faster than the equivalent cordless vacuum. My only complaint about this model is that doesn't go to the edge of the skirting board to clean, but some other brands do. The other brands don't have the leaver on the top to empty the contents out the bottom, but the Ewbank does. For this reason, the Ewbank wins, along with ability to pick up crumbs, dust and pet hair.

Fantastic and easy to use
Wanted something for the carpets and I remember my grandmother had one of these. I have to say that I was very impressed with the picking up and how light it is. It gets small jobs done in no time. Brilliant little device. After using this for a few weeks I have noticed that the top handle becomes detached. I suspect that it is a design fault which is a pity as it really is a good little device.

This is a sweeper that uses brushes to lift dust and hair from the carpet and floor. We have owned several for quick pick-ups because they are quieter than a vacuum and sometimes quicker. This is by far the best we have owned. It is easy to use and does a great job.

Funziona ma è una ciofeca al limite dell'utilizzabile . Chiaramente il prezzo è vincente . L'intera struttura è precaria e si rischia la rottura in pochi gg di utilizzo.
