Works well, added feature of ODB checks, well made, and easy to follow on screen instructions.
Worked extremely well and easy to understand with the onscreen instructions. A bit easier with two people on some of the tests to rev the engine and put electrical strain within the time periods allowed, but doable on usually the second attempt. Overall for the price, I am going to keep this tool handy to check the maintenance on all my battery needs. Confirmed failed battery (8% health), and noted a soon to be, now weak battery (40%) health that is only still working enough due to it being oversized for the vehicle by design. It works, get this. I tested briefly the ODB portion which is honestly just a convenient feature to have on this tool, but it was able to see an existing error and purge it nicely. I replaced the O2 sensor as it also manually tested bad on my multimeter confirmed, and this was an easy check and clear process. Worth the money for sure!

A must have!!!
Good tool to have to check for battery condition and health. It is also a bonus that it can check your alternator is in good contidion in terms of charging. With this battery tester, you can be able to monitor and anticipate possible battery failure. It can help tou prepare for a possible battery breakdown or if you see a low battery health, you can try and be proactive and charge the battey or perform repair mode using other available tools and prolong battery life until you are ready to buy a new one. Its very easy to use!

Good Basic Battery Tester, Easy to Use
I bought this battery tester because it did well in a very thorough YouTube video where several battery testers were used and compared. In my first attempt at posting this review, I included a link to that video, but Amazon informed me that doing so violates their "community guidelines". So instead, I'll just say that if you want to see that video, Google the phrase "Project Farm battery tester", and you'll find it. So far I've used the tester on two car batteries: 1) a good battery in a car I don't drive much, and 2) a marginal battery in a car I drive often. The test results agreed with the condition of the batteries: Overall results: Battery 1: "Good battery - recharge", Battery 2: "Replace" Three main tests are available: Battery Test: Shows general condition of the battery. 10 different measurement standards can be used, including Cranking Amps (CA) and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). Cranking Test: Measures how low the battery voltage dips when cranking an engine. Charging Test: Checks if the alternator is charging the battery properly with the engine running, under three different load conditions. The most-recent test data for all tests is stored in non-volatile memory until it is overwritten by a subsequent test. This is also true for data you enter for the battery being tested, such as ratings for CA and CCA. The tester has no battery of its own - it is powered by the battery under test. There is a USB-C port on the unit's bottom panel. The user's manual says nothing about this. I thought that maybe it could be used for data transfers or firmware updates, and tried connecting it to a computer. It doesn't work for data transfer, but if it is connected to a USB power supply, that will power the tester so that saved data can be viewed when away from a car. USB 5V supplies work; USB supplies that can provide multiple voltages don't seem to work for this. The main reason for a 4-star vs. 5-star rating is that the USB port can't be used for data transfers. I sent a question to the manufacturer (via the Amazon website) asking about the intended purpose of the USB-C port. They replied: "The USB-C port you mentioned is mainly used for burning programs into the machine during production and does not support software upgrades or data transfer functions. The BAS100 device itself does not have the ability to upgrade firmware via the USB-C port." I also tried using the tester on a couple of 12V lead acid batteries in an electric lawn mower that were rated in Ah (Amp-hours) rather than CA or CCA. One of the measurement standards (called "GB") that the tester has available can accommodate this, but it only goes down to 30 Ah, and my batteries are rated at 17 Ah. Because of this, the test results may not be accurate, but the tester did indicate that one of the batteries should be replaced, which isn't surprising since they've been in use for 12 years, and have lost some of their capacity.

Very Impressive
Excellent! This product saved me hundreds. Took my truck in for a diagnostic. I was told I needed an alternator. I though I'd by this and test myself since the repair was costly. My alternator is just fine and my battery needed replacing. Funny though; the Black Friday price is only 3 dollars less than last months price.

battery tester
my truck is 5 years old with original battery, I was concerned it was getting weak, I did numerous tests at different times and days, this worked great! my battery is still good, but I do understand that can change at any time, this gives me piece of mind. very accurate I had a shop check battery since it was in for repairs, and their tester showed same results, good value for your money. and vendor reached out to make sure I had no issues!
