Arrowhead Mills Organic Cereal, Oat Bran Flakes, 12 Oz. Box

I have been gluten free for more than 5 years. This is my favorite cereal! The ingredients on the box I just received from Amazon says "may contain wheat.” See the picture. This is different from the picture above in the product description. It is true that many oats contain wheat gluten from shared equipment. I have never had any trouble with organic oats. Non-organic or "regular" oats are definitely a problem, giving severe migraines. I also have a problem with corn too. So this cereal, is such a blessing. Growing up cereal was our go to snack when mom wasn't home yet. I lived on cereal in college. Yes, it can get soggy, so eat faster. It is still quite delicious.

Nothing to say. Love the cereal and so does my husband - it's very tasty even it it's a little bit more expensive, you kind of get what you pay for if you like Oat Bran Flakes!

These flakes are almost without taste. I ate them several times over several days and came to the conclusion that they were not worth the calories. So I threw them away. I purchased this cereal to use as a substitute for Post Oat Flakes in a Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. Post Oat Flakes were very popular in the 1970s, but discontinued many decades ago. One reviewer said these flakes tasted like Post Oat Flakes. I disagree. There is almost no flavor, and I didn’t care for what little flavor there is. Another reviewer said the flakes were too thick. I disagree with that comment, as well. They are thin, crumble easily, and I think they would get soggy in milk if used as a breakfast cereal. I’m disappointed, but appreciate that Amazon makes such a wide variety of products available.

These oat bran flakes are my all time favorite cereal. But 8 bucks a box is nuts. One box lasts me 3 days.I started buying theme a few years ago when they were $36 for a dozen boxes. Now a dozen boxes is $80-90! That would be a over a thousand dollars a year for cereal.If anyone has found a more reasonable similar cereal please let me know!

It's hard to find a "ready to eat" Oat Bran cereal. Perhaps that's why Arrowhead thought it appropriate to price this one so expensively? Almost $12.00 for a 12 oz box of cereal is pretty insane. But the only "plan B" currently on the shelf is Cracklin' Oat Bran.....awesome cereal for fiber content for sure....but OMG the SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR!!....just ruins it. I'm buying this cereal with Amazon Reward points, but when I run out of them, I'll be done with it. Can't justify paying this price out of pocket. The only thing that might help a bit is if it was a bigger box of cereal for the money. I'll be keeping an eye out for another Oat Bran cereal to come along, hopefully soon!

The product was listed as a case of 6 12oz boxes but in fact a single box of cereal was delivered at a price of nearly $12. The advertised price and product were grossly misleading!

I just had some of this cereal. Really tasty. I like it a lot! The texture is much different than the wheat bran flakes. The flakes seem to be a bit heavier. I read the nutritional value for both cereals the wheat and oat bran and each has its own pros. I want to try it in my Vitamix smoothies like I do the wheat bran. Highly recommend! Will buy again.
