Alive and Red. Shrimply Great.
12/16/25: Please note that I am not as concerned with the coloration or "quality" rating with these as I am that they arrive alive and kicking. That is why the review gets 5 stars. If I were picky about the color, some of the shrimp sent with this batch have patchy or clear blotches, one is almost transparent red, and one is almost more blue than red. Caveat: Males can be less likely to be "fire red" and can be paler or more likely to be "patchy". At least one of the patchy ones is definitely a male. MOST of these are a good quality fire red. So I am not disappointed. The seller had 3 "extra" shrimp included for attrition, and a couple of microscopic babies snuck in, too (although I don't anticipate them surviving the acclimatization). None of these are berried, which made me sad. I was hoping for a few babies in the tank after they were transferred in. I got what I paid for, though. I received two bags with 11-12 "adult" (3/4 inch) shrimp each, in one box together, padded with shredded cardboard insulation. The package tracking stated that it would arrive on a Thursday, which would have missed a cold snap evening here, but they were WELL ahead of schedule and were delivered on Monday. Having ordered a couple of times from this seller before, I should have anticipated that. These were probably subjected to some rather chilly overnight temps. The care with which they were packaged in the double-bagged and then bubble wrap insulation bags, on top of being surrounded by the shredded cardboard kept them safe. They were very chilly when they arrived, but only one perished from the stress of the trip... and it was not quite dead yet (still twitching). I unwrapped them, found more than the 20 alive (so no claims process) and started the drip acclimatization. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. The TDS meter I have shows a PPM of over 300 from the seller's water stock. My tanks run at around 150-165 PPM. If I dumped them straight in.. they would die within hours from osmotic shock. I also thought (for once) to test the chemical perimeters of the seller's water. The Nitrate was practically off the charts, and the ammonia wasn't very good, either, so I pushed the drip as fast as I dared. Nitrite was 0 and the PH was a match for my tank at around 7.5. After around 3-4 times of pulling off water to allow for more to drip in, I left it at a slower drip overnight. I've returned to a more normal 2-3 drips per second once I got back into my office this morning. Right now the shrimp are sitting at around 200 PPM and I'm hoping they'll all make it through the next week. I'm waiting for the PPM to hit around 10-15 difference compared to my tank before I dare to put them in. I fed them and they went after the food with gusto and seem to be calm, which is a good sign. I noticed neocaridina tend to jank around erratically when they are really stressed. The little green mesh that the seller included in each bag is a hit with the crowd, and they hang out on it constantly. These will be joining the 11-12 already in the tank from a previous purchase. I am hoping the new additions spark some breeding, because I've yet to be successful on getting any of these to berry. /sigh. I'm hoping they are just "young stock" and they will start up in around 2-3 more months on the ones I got in October. Overall pleased with the additions. Hoping they settle in and have long and happy lives entertaining me with their antics. Update 12/17/25: The new arrivals have been transferred into the tank before I left my office (where the tank is) yesterday. Two had perished overnight, most likely from stress or osmotic shock. I pulled them out and double checked to make sure neither one had eggs I could try and rescue before sending them off. The rest seem to be settling in so far. Side note, after I wrote the first part of this review.. I found at least two BABIES in my tank BEFORE I transferred in the new arrivals. Apparently my previous occupants are better at hiding a berried status than I was aware.

Arrived healthy and active despite cold weather
ordered them when we had warm weather, then a cold snap was so worried that they'd all of died in transit but only lost 3 or 4 on arrival ive lost an additional 3 - 6 that I can tell from unknown reasons

Maybe not fire reds, but they seem happy and healthy upon arrival!
Every single one of them arrived alive and there were even some babies in the bag! I'm very happy with my purchase. I didn't count how many adults were in the bag, but they were all alive and active. I acclimated them to my 55-gallon, (currently) fishless tank and then released them. They seem to be doing really well and I'm super excited to see them getting settled into their new home. BUT -- and you had to know there's a 'but' coming -- I do not believe these qualify as "fire red" quality in terms of their coloration. One or two might be, but most of them are actually red and black. And there's one that has a body that is 2/3 of the way clear. Perhaps the black coloration is the result of other causes like disease or injury, but I don't want to contemplate that. Maybe they're just getting ready to molt! Whatever the case, I don't think these are true fire reds. They're more like high-quality cherry reds. UPDATE: It's been about three weeks and the shrimp are doing well! There have been several molts and I've had only one death since they were introduced. Further, the babies have been thriving. Anyway, I just want to underscore how happy I am with this purchase. And after looking at comments for other sellers, I am starting to think I was overly harsh in criticizing the color inconsistency. I'm giving some thought to buying another batch of these!

Good company!
Swimming creatures was very easy to work with! Although my first shipment had causalities upon arrival, they were responsive/quick about sending a replacement order. Both orders were packed very well in a lot of insulation. The second replacement order even came with a small complimentary gift for the inconvenience which was a nice surprise! The shrimp seem healthy and are bright red. Definitely would order from them again.

Unfortunate Experience
All arrived alive and everything was fine for a week. I had 6 existing cherries already in the tank. One week later I had only one living cherry shrimp left. Can’t tell if it was an original or not but I went from 6 to 26 to 1 and the only change was the introduction of the new shrimp.
