Branch Best is a wide receiver. His best friend Finn Miller is a tight end. Finn's sister Layla was dating the quarterback for an opposing team, but after a breakup, she and her best friend Poppy head up to the Miller family cabin for a weekend to rest & recuperate, not realizing that Finn & Branch are already there. We get the usual warnings from Finn to Branch to stay away from Layla - and we all know how well that works in romance books ;) Several weeks later, Layla finds out that antibiotics & birth control pills & 10 seconds without a condom can have consequences. She's aware of Branch's playboy reputation and can't quite see what lies ahead for them. Branch has to go through some difficult thought processes before he figures out the right way to proceed. He's aware of his reputation and how challenging it to have a successful and monogamous relationship while playing professional sports - and he doesn't want Layla and the baby to suffer the slings & arrows from the gossiping public. But he also knows that what he and Layla have is worth trying something he hadn't thought possible before. It's a little bit of a feel-good story with a visit to Linton & Crave (prequel to the Gibson books). Sweet Scale: 3/5 Spicy Scale: 3/5

I can't believe I waited so long to read this! What an exceptional love story! Branch and Layla are such opposites, but I think that makes them an even better couple together. The fun and utter joy they bring to one another just makes me sooooo happy! I love them!!! And oh my gosh WHY DON'T WE HAVE FINN AND POPPY'S STORY YET?!? I need it! Another delicious five star read from Adriana Locke, she never lets me down!

Branch “Lucky” Best can attract women. But their is one woman that will knock him down and rock him to the core. Layla James doesn’t have luck with men. Either cheating or a perfect match, Layla’s was fumbling with the opposite sex. Her luck was finally turning around when Layla arrived at her family vacation home for a quick getaway. When two football players throwing the ball, who doesn’t look? Her attention is sure not on her brother throwing the ball. Her eyes on the man who is catching the ball. The two have an immediate connection and drawn to each other. With keeping their hot wild weekend a secret from her brother, Layla is gifted a special surprise that is due in 9 months. When Layla tells Branch. Let me say he didn’t react well and hurt her feelings. But with a one-two punch, reality comes crashing down and Branch owns up to the plate. Not everything is smooth sailing after the reveal. Being a football player and the life, he’s afraid of her getting hurt. Life is a risk. But is Branch will to take that risk for happiness? I truly enjoyed Lucky Number 11. I cant wait to see what is up next. 4 Stars Received arc for an honest review

I LOVED this book. I loved everything about it. It was such a treat for me to have a tiny glimpse into the world of our favorite family, the Gibson boys but they were not the feature here. The primary couple were each exactly who they were supposed to be. I also liked that although they each had to move a bit to the center they each retained who they were at the end. Our guy realized he was not giving anything up but only gaining what would ultimately fill his heart. This was a great read. I know it is a standalone but I really hope Ms. Locke has plans for Poppy and Finn. We still have a couple who really need a complete story. At that point I would hope we have a little window into the world of Branch and Layla. denise bailey

Adriana Locke scores a touchdown with this book about a cocky football player and a no nonsense girl who isn't willing to get involved with another NFL superstar. This was a great, easy, fun-filled read. It's filled with emotion without being overly heavy, and it will keep you interested from beginning to end. Layla James, sister to NFL star Finn has already learned the hard way that athletes are no good for her heart. Finn has already warned his best friend Branch Best to stay away, but do these two listen....of course not. Sparks fly and so does the drama!! Layla and Branch are trying to hide things from Finn, Finn and Layla's best friend Poppy have a sneaky thing going, and it's a wild ride to the end. I haven't met a book from this author that I haven't loved and this one is no different, I definitely recommend it!! Reviewed for 2OCC
