Interesting pedal
Been playing guitar for nearly 40 years, and have more than a clue what I'm doing ! This pedal was bought whilst waiting for a much more expensive boutique pedal to arrive. The pro's : •Well made, metal casing. •Instruction booklet (for a change) which explains quite clearly what the controls and switch do. Negatives : •No battery power, so a wall wart or 'pedalbank' will be necessary. •Knobs work well however they may be a little too sensitive to knocks, and after a while I think they may show their cheapness and possibly snap. Don't know, it's just a budget potentiometer after all...... You want to know what the pedal sounds like ? It's very low gain, in fact it's not typical overdrive or gain pedal. It's v-e-r-y low gain even on full. The three voice switch works and is very subtle, and I would say it is more suited and dynamic with single coils than humbuclers. It's a good sound to gently push the front end of an already crunchy amp. Responded well to slight break up rather than full on metal distortion. Used as a thickener for an already pleasant amp tone it is great. It can provide a little boost for solos but we're not talking about doubling in volume. You will have to experiment to find the sweet spot. I use all valve amps and it suited cheap ones all the way up to boutique amps. It does it's "thing" well. Would I recommend it ? It's £40, so a quarter of the price of your average designer pedal. Is it value for money ? Absolutely ! Great little pedal. Would I buy another one ? Yes, without question. Will it suit everyone ? No. It's not really a booster...... it's a subtle tone shaper which happens to be right in the area I prefer. Just remember, it's not a tube screamer, it's a gentle prod in the same direction, and due to that I liked what it does to what you already sound like. The £300+ pedal arrived, and will be used a lot, but this little Dumbal won't be off the pedal board : It's staying, as it does something subtle but noticeable, and I like it !!

Good, with caveats.
It works fine and sits in a permanent position in my chain since I've bought it. Seems well built, no problems with the audio, although the 'tape sound' has a quite drastic roll off, much more drastic than the tape delays I've used. But it has no problems with noise or anything else. It does not reach 1000ms, each delay path is less than half that. Still easily enough for everything I want to do with a guitar. There is an issue in the independence of the two delays - you can use a mono input to feed them both, but you need two outputs to hear both the delays, which is not a typical setup for a guitarist. I have worked around this by running a patch cable from the output of one channel into the second input. Now I have two delays with independent control over time, feedback and level. And when I do this, I can actually get the pedal to feedback. When I bought it I was disappointed that I could not do this typical 'analogue' delay effect, but with this loop I can. If that's not clear, you can see where I've patched the output to the input in the photo.

Great natural sounding pedal.
This Dona pedal is fantastic .I have guitar combo amp I bought for £500 about 35 years ago which I dearly love. It's solid state with a electro voice speaker. Using this Dona pedal in conjunction with my amp and a delay pedal I can really get that low gain Larry Carlton sound. A fantastic pedal for a low price. Remember it's a low gain pedal which does not do heavy overdrive sounds.

Great overdrive.
A suprise purchase. I got hold of this to try it out as I was curious. It turned out a keeper. Adds crunch and overdrive rather than distortion. Worth the 40 quid.

Give the sockets a clean first!
Unit arrived with noisy left channel and unusably faulty right channel. Just before I put it back in the box to return it I tried jamming a jack plug in and out of both the right sockets - this fixed the fault but still both channels were noticeably noisy. Sprayed a jack plug with contact cleaner and jammed it in/out of all four sockets several times - this fixed the noise issue. Opened the pedal up to see if it was worth spraying the potentiometers, but these are sealed units and (by the look of them) possibly digital controllers, so no need for that. Now it works as advertised, some observations: 1. The pedal is tiny, not much larger than a standard ‘mini-pedal’ format. As such, it’s quite hard to use the cramped controls compared to, say, a Boss pedal. 2. Specs say 25ms to 1000ms, this is incorrect. More like 25ms to 500ms. 3. Repeats get progressively darker/degraded (hence ‘tape’ in the name) but not in an especially musical way. Not terrible, but this sure ain’t no echoplex. 4. Level of repeats does not quite get to 100%. Feedback does not quite get to infinity. 5. The above points means that this is not really a pedal you can really ‘play’ off the controls like a Boss DD-3 for whacky self-osc dub fun. 6. That said, it’s a nice sounding, usable duel-delay with its own character. I found good results with a mono source (ie a monosynth), less good with a stereo source (ie after a stereo chorus).

Great.
I can't believe that this is the first delay pedal that i've ever owned that has a "Reverse" feature. And it's good as well! If you want to sound like The Beatles on "Strawberry Fields", then maybe this is the pedal for you. I'm more interested in getting my techno kick drum and rumble just right, and this should be brilliant for that. Definitely worth the asking price. .

It's good but
The white tape delay sounds great and you really can't go wrong for this kind of money but there is one downside. Donner claim this delay is upto 1 second per side, this is not true, i measured it at around 450ms per side which is fine for me but I'm surprised they're allowed to get away with such a false statement. I would have given it 5 stars but it loses a point for this

Pretty terrible compressor tbh. Don't know what I was expecting at this price point.
