Q: What is the difference between this one and the Amazon Edition?

I don’t think there is a difference.

Q: If I bought two of the game, could I combine the materials to have 6 players? The old versions were 6 players and we have 4 kids.

I would say yes you could. Or no to goodwill or something to get just the extra pieces you need. Since you don't need the board for 6 players. Really just the cars and pegs

while ive never played the junior one, i do think they can both play this one. the 4 year old might need a little more help understanding the rules/reading the cards the 1st time they play but otherwise i think it should be finw

I’ve played it by simply stacking pegs on top of each other or simply removing everyone from the car into a separate pile to keep track of for the end count
