Beautiful, well made, high quality wool blanket
I would give this blanket 6 stars if I could. This is a really nice military-type survival blanket. Military-type blankets were issued to be used on cots or to sleep on the ground. They are an appropriate size for someone to haul around all day in their backpack and still be able to stay warm at night. The description clearly states that it is 66” x 90”; a twin-sized blanket is 60”x 84”. It will not fit on a larger bed. I bought it with the intention of keeping it in my car for emergencies but it’s so pretty that I’m using it as a lap blanket. I bought another one to use in the car. It would be a really nice gift. It's very well made. The weaving is surprisingly tight and the stitching around the sides is exceptional. You can see from the photos that a serger was used to hem the blanket before the decorative stitching was added. I expect this blanket to hold up very well. The description says 80% wool but the label says that it’s 70% wool, 30% synthetic fibers. It is $17.99, so I don’t care. It will keep me warm even if it’s wet, it won’t burn easily, and I can put it in the washer. If you want to wash wool, it HAS to contain synthetic fibers so it won’t shrink (use the delicate cycle and cold water only). I avoid using the dryer. Wool isn’t necessarily fire retardant but it doesn’t burn easily. Synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic melt and stick to your skin; which makes a burn much worse – doctors have to remove the plastic before they can get to the burn. If you tossed a cotton sweater into a fire it would burn up, the synthetic one would be a melted pile of mess, and the wool one would be singed. If you know you’re going to be working around a fire, wear natural materials ONLY! (Including your shoes) Natural fibers are short in comparison to synthetic fibers and are going to pill and shed. When you put the blanket in the washer and dryer to remove the loose fibers, you are literally pulling the fibers out of the blanket – all of that fuzz is your blanket! Wool is covered with lanolin, which causes most liquids to just bead up on it and it’s easy to sponge off most dirt. When you wash your wool blanket, you’re removing the lanolin. Try not to wash or dry it. Sponging it off and airing it out is the best way to care for wool. I wear wool sweaters during the winter and wear a cotton t-shirt underneath to absorb perspiration and odors so I don’t have to wash them as often. When I opened the package, the blanket didn’t smell any worse than a new pair of jeans would when it came out of the same package. The odor was faint and slightly odd. If anything, it didn’t smell enough like lanolin. I hung it over the shower curtain rod for 24 hours to air it out and that little bit of odor is completely gone. This blanket is really soft but it isn’t merino wool or cashmere. I know this about wool and it doesn’t bother me. Last November, I bought another, more expensive wool blanket for my bed but I like this one much, much better.

good goods
The wool is thick and warm, generous size full. it's soft to touch, and has a nice finish to it. The price is very competitive. Its perfect for our car trips, camping, yoga practice or game night.

Nice blanket
I really didn't know what to expect when I ordered this blanket, because there are 3 different measurements and wool contents listed on this page. The blanket seems nice. It is soft and does not smell bad like so many reviews I see for other wool blankets on Amazon. The wool content for the blanket I received is 70% wool and the rest is 30% polyester. The size measured out to be about 58x76 inches. I would have really preferred to get the 100% wool that I had seen listed on one spot on this page, but for the price I'm satisfied with the 70% wool content. I'm going to order a few more of these blankets, and it might just be luck of the draw for the size and wool content I get. I would have rated this as 5 stars if I actually knew what I was getting, because it really is a nice blanket and a great price. Update 01/21/2022: I ended up ordering 2 more. Have been using this blanket as the top blanket on my bed, and it has kept me nice and warm in the cold winter months. Although the price has more than doubled since my first purchase, it is still a great price for the quality of these blankets. My review would go up to 5 stars if they would correct the size and wool content in the description, because it truly is a 5 star worthy blanket.

Totally amazing quality for the money, extremely happy with this purchase
I am convinced that most of the "bad reviews" by people that have bought wool blankets are from people that don't understand WOOL. Launder them CAREFULLY (gentle and with cold/cool water and with wool-specific cleaner (Woolite) and tumble dry them in gentle mode at low temperature. Also you don't want to launder them often, they don't need it, laundering should be infrequent or they would deteriorate. Of course any wool blanked will leave some lint the first couple times you clean them. I am stunned that this blanket only sells for less than $20? Mine has very nice consistent cloth, no voids or thin areas, and the same hue of color throughout. What amazes me most is the really attractive hemming around the perimeter to keep the blanket from fraying on the edges, it's quite attractive. THE COLOR is not like the picture, it's HEATHER GRAY WITH DARK GOLD HEMMING. Also, THIS BLANKET IS LIGHT WEIGHT, probably about 2.5 LB, whereas the typical winter wool blanked is about 4.5 LB. I bought it for this reason, I have heavier wool blankets for winter but wanted something for spring & fall that wasn't too warm. This one is PERFECT for that. It's May at the time of this writing, and the weather is still in the 60's most nights, and I've been using this blanket and it is perfect, it gives the nice natural feel of wool (doesn't suck the energy out of you like a synthetic) but isn't so thick that it smothers or overheats you. This would be a perfect blanket to keep in the car for emergencies, or for camping, it folds up smaller than a full weight wool blanket. Overall I am 110% happy with my purchase. ALSO NOTE THAT THIS IS A SMALLER SIZE of blanket, when put on my "full" size bed it just reaches the bottom and only hangs over the bottom about 4 inches, so if you want it to drape down further than that, this isn't the blanket for you.

Fantastic wool blanket, and very warm on cold nights. Also, the wolf feels rather smooth and not scratchy.

Warm, yet light weight good for Canadian winters at home. Contains wool poly mix. My kids like it, I like it and even the dog will choose to sleep on it. Grey with maroon stitching is attractive enough for the living room .

Very soft and warm

It's nice to have a blanket I don't really care about. This thing is my poor used and abused workhorse whether I'm in the woods or on the tundra or just looking to pad whatever I've got in my rucksack. 10/10
