Steve’s travel guides are a must where ever you go. His guide for Madrid and Toledo also included several additional cities that are great one day trips from Madrid to maximize your travel experience. Housing, transportation, restaurants and entertainment are all uniquely cover to assist you in planning your visit before you go and to add to your enjoyment while you’re at your destination city.

Concise, timely, accurate with great touring suggestions. Bought several books, this is the one I used.

At the center of Spain is its ancient capital, Toledo, and its current capital, Madrid. Both are both loaded with sights worthy of a visit by the enterprising traveler. Also in the region, and easily reached, are other attractions such as the Valley of the Fallen, Spain's monument to its 1930's Civil War, and El Escorial, Spain's monument to its victory over France in the 1500's. This new Rick Steves Snapshot Guide has the details.This small and easily portable book was extracted from the larger Rick Steves Spain volume. It contains maps, photographs, graphics and good advice on how to navigate the region, in the kind of detail that prevents the enterprising traveler from going seriously astray. Take the author's good advice and read the whole thing before starting your vacation planning. And plan to see as much as you can of Spain's fascinating history, culture, and art as is on display in this region. Very well recommended.

Used this book to plan trip to Madrid. Indispensable!

Got this book for a trip to Madrid and Toledo because I wanted a smaller guidebook than the Lonely Planet book. Should have checked it out of the library first as this book did not have as much information about dining options or sights as the Lonely Planet book. We found ourselves searching for information on sights that we remembered from the larger book but couldn’t find here. This book is more suited to those who want to amble about the city on one of the walking tours in the book but if you have limited time and want to laser focus on a few sights, this book isn’t one I’d recommend.

I usually buy these pocket guides for the fold out map. This edition does not have one so I am returning. All the information in this book is also in the larger book about Spain.

This book really helped us to navigate around these two beautiful places,recommend a visit.
