Don’t buy even if you got apple tv or externalSources, this light provide a 10 or 20% brightness when its switched to immersive view (note this is during 1080p or leas resolution) it will not even work for 4k

I initially had a glowing review because it was a good price and I was initially impressed with the effect. But I also ordered a similar box from another seller that appeared to be the same device, but had a model number that ended in 2 instead of 1. After observing both devices, it was clear to me that the device I am reviewing now had some deficiencies when using the app. The Intensity setting had no effect. And compared to the competing device, the intensity seemed locked at a lowest setting no matter what was selected on the app. The WideFilm setting also seemed to no effect compared to the competing device. I can't say for sure if this had to do with the lower model number this seller is selling, or if I just had a defective box. I would just recommend you check that the Intensity setting in the app is responsive for you because if it isn't, you'll be missing out. Regardless of which model number of this device you end up with, there are a few limitations you may need to contend with. First, since you must send a video signal to this device. You won't be able to enjoy the dynamic edge lighting when you watch any video that is native on your TV. You must be watching video coming into the TV HDMI port. Second, you can only send one HDMI signal into this box. So if you currently have video going into more than one HDMI port on your TV, you may want to invest in an HDMI switch and be sure that it supports 4K. That way you can remotely switch which video signal goes into this device. And finally, this device does not properly handle streams that have Dolby Vision. So 4k streams from HBOMax or Disney+ won't get the lighting effect you want. I ended up buying an HDMI splitter to send the "pure" 4K signal directly to the TV and the splitter had the ability to downgrade the other output so that it was 1080p with no of those bells and whistles in the signal. I sent this downgraded signal to this backlighting device where it terminated rather than passing it through to the TV. After this rather complicated setup, I am satisfied with the ability to switch between multiple devices, all of which get the awesome light show regardless of how "advanced" the video signal is.

If you’re getting this just for a TV it’s not going to work. It takes picture from an outside external device and feeds it into the TVs HDMI. So If you have a AppleTV, Xbox, Firestick etc. you’re golden and it works pretty good. If you’re using the TVs internal smart apps all this will do is light up singular colors like a cheap light strip.Been waiting on a device that could replace my old DreamScreen device from 10 years ago that suddenly just closed up shop one day and this is pretty close to it.Ok there’s one small caveat. If the image you’re looking at is HDR or Dolby enhanced the lights will fail to light up much at all to a noticeable level. I followed someone else’s advice and got like cheap HDMI splitter where it had a downscaler option. So I have my Xbox going through the splitter and into the TV at a full 4k, and another separate HDMI coming out the second splitter port with the downscale option on and putting the image into the sync box to 1080. Now the lights as bright in the Netflix app as they are with the normal YouTubeTV app.

This does not follow the color scheme of your TV, the only mode that works is music mode. Some of the presets work that you get when using the app. But for as much as I paid for this I expected it to work.

This one is weird. It works great when I use the Xbox and for random colors but it’s terrible for regular tv. It’s not vibrant at all and the colors don’t even match the screen. I was very disappointed. You can barely tell these are even on the tv. I did like the installation but it’s kind of a one size fits all and it was too big for my 50” TV. We had to improvise when putting it on. You can do better than these.

I purchased from viewing videos on social media experienced the cool effects but just not bright enough had to be totally dark to see the effects. It was ok but trying other products to see a difference
