It was a good price for a figure like this one. He has the classic safari jacket he has on. I will say his head, torso and legs, have limited movement when posing. But other than that, it’s a pretty good figure.

A nicely crafted figure that is comic-book accurate. Highly recommended for fans of Wonder Man and the West Coast Avengers with whom he was affiliated. It is no WONDER that Stan Lee is such a legend in the comic book industry. He created superheroes, supervillains and ordinary support cast people with a touch of humanity. Wonder Man made his debut in Avengers #9 (1964). He was a minion of Baron Zemo who was out to destroy the Avengers. The following words are from the defining moment in the life of Simon Williams - an ordinary man who embezeled money and then gained awesome super powers that made him a Wonder Man - "They tried to help me when I came to them. They treated me with respect ...like an equal. And this is how I have repaid them...with the basest treachery. Is life so dear that I 'd pay such a price for it??" Given super powers by Baron Zemo, Wonder Man became a henchman of Zemo and infiltrated the Avengers under the pretence of wanting to join the Avengers and whose help he sought for a terminal illness. He lured the Avengers into a trap set by Zemo but after the Avengers were defeated and taken prisoner, he had a change of heart. The Marvel magic set in. Baron Zemo gave Simon Williams super powers using ionic rays. The same ionic rays could have killed Wonder Man unless he was given a daily dose of an antidote. This was Zemo's safeguard against betrayal by his new henchman but betray Zemo was what Wonder Man did at the cost of his life. Troubled by conscience, he turned against Zemo to save the Avengers whom Zemo intended to murder. Wonder Man is among a group of supervillains who reformed or turned over a new leaf. The earliest of these villains is, to the best of my knowledge, a Russian agent named Yuri Topolov who appeared in issue 1 of the short-live Incredible Hulk series (1962). Next came more Russian agents who were foes of Iron Man in Tales of Suspnese - the first Crimson Dynamo (# 46) followed (in 1964) by the Black Widow in #52 and 53. Hawkeye took on Iron Man in #57, 60 and 64. Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch were never evil even though they first appeared as minions of Magneto's Brotherhood of evil mutants in X-Men 4 (1964). In 1965, Hawkeye, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch joined the Avengers (#16) but not Wonder Man. He died in Avengers # 9 but would be revived later in the 1970s and became an Avenger. Much as I like this latest action figure of Wonder Man, I am not thrilled by the costume. Wondy looks more like a fashion model in red safari jacket or a Hollywood hunk than a superhero. I hope Hasbro will make a figure of the Wonder Man in the original green costume seen in Avengers #9. Photo 1 shows Wondy posing with the cover of an original issue #9 of the Avengers. Photo 2 shows Wondy in comparison with other figures that preceded him - A Toy Biz Marvel Legends figure in black costume which I think is the first Wonder Man action figure ever made. The next Wondy figure that I own is also made by Toy Biz and based on the Avengers animated TV series circa 1997 – 98.
