(April 2020)UN-BOXING THE PRODUCT: You need to be a little careful when opening this, as it is very well wrapped, due to its being a thin(ish) sheet of metal, which could take a slice or dent out of a surface or you, if not careful! Luckily no such incident here! There is a protective film of plastic on the top side, which you need to peel off – quite a satisfying process! On the back there is also a white film, which you don’t remove (I tried to, before realising that though!). Attached to the bottom are some strips of little pads. I have affixed one in each corner about an inch / 2cms in from the edge and have kept the rest spare should they fall off through use / washing. The item itself was in perfect condition with no dents or scratches.SIZE: 50cms x 50cms surface. With a round fold - lip depth over the counter edge 2.5cms (Thickness is approx. 1.5mm – very sturdy and no wobble at all.)USING: I wanted something to use when baking, kneading dough, using cookie cutters (for my Nigella moments!) or generally making a mess! Dough on wooden worktops is a real pain to clean up, it strips the oils off and cutters can scratch the wood – note to self, never get wooden worktops again! This ‘metal board’ is big enough to do it with ease and with the lip edge that goes over the counter, ensures it stays firmly in place. It now makes the whole process much easier and the clean up a doddle. Baking is a much more enjoyable experience - I hate the tidy up! I looked at a large silicone mat (second choice), marble (too expensive), other wooden blocks (no idea why – suspect my James Martin ‘half a tree board’ aspirations!), then I happened upon this and hurrah! I am so glad I did. You’ll see from the pictures that its big enough for the job, unlike chopping boards! It also looks really good, providing a little stylish accent piece that’s also practical and helpful, but it also easily slides away behind a door if you prefer. I must just note, don’t use this as a general chopping board, you will blunt your knives.CLEANING: Super easy, once you know how! I tried the sink – not a good plan unless your feet needed a bath too! I tried Dettol spray, it went streaky, I then tried the soft side of the dish sponge with hot soapy fairy (other washing up liquids are available!) then dried it off with kitchen roll – et voilà! Perfect, streak free and hygienically clean!CONCLUSION: Great item that looks more expensive than it is – perfect for the use I need and ease of cleaning. I have already shown some friends (via the powers of FaceTime – social distancing and all that!) and two of them have now ordered one too. Plus a UK manufacturer and supplier, always best to support local independent businesses when we can.

Good British Quality finishing my work top off very well

Bought this for two reasons mainly. Having bought an air fryer I felt my cooker hob was obsolete for the most part. This covers the burners of my cooker and provides a hygienic worktop on which to site the new airfryer. So easy to clean and as a bonus it also improves the look of my kitchen. Should I need access to the hob this slides easily from the hob to my adjacent worktop. Very pleased I bought it.

Like a lot of other people, I managed to burn my kitchen surface and this covers it really well.It feels solid and well made and it is moulded to fit well over the edge of (most?) surfaces.However, the pads that come with it to stop it gripping are too thick, making quite a gap under the sheet - so I actually use a very small piece of bluetac instead, which is much better.Second problem is that it scratches quite easily - so don't cut things directly on itThird problem is that if you use a scouring pad to clean it with water, then you get a few rust spots where the chromium part of the stainless steel is taken off and the steel part oxidises.... however this is easily rectified by cleaning again to remove the rust and then making sure it's properly dry... and then allowing the natural chromium shield to reform over a few days.Having said all this, it is still a very good purchase - saving me from feeling like I had to replace the entire surface (which would be much more expensive!) also, it is very good for putting hot pans onto... but for cutting, I would still use a board ontop of this.

Love this ,looks great and you can just do any preparation on it ,cleans easy doesn’t mark .Given the kitchen for very little money a modern look

Bought this to go on my outdoor table alongside my ooni pizza oven. Struggled to find one this size that wasn’t stupidly expensive.It’s become a permanent fixture in our kitchen now the pizza weather is behind us but it’s great for general kitchen use as well.It does seem to scratch quite easily but that seems to come with the territory on these sort of things.

Wish I’d bought this years ago. Forgot when I purchased to check the width of the counter space but actually it worked better upside down.
