Silverline Magnetic V-Block 70 x 60 x 70mm (244994)

A solid performer and exactly as advertised. It was delivered promptly and well packed. Some vapour phase inhibition (VPI) paper was included in the packaging, to prevent corrosion, and of course, none was evident. The V-block is of heavy construction and has three sides which are all activated simultaneously by the magnetic clamping system. I noticed the basal clamping surfaces provided the strongest force, adequate for most machining tasks. As with any magnetic clamp, the surface to which the V block is attached, must be flat to achieve the full clamping force; this will not be a problem for most users. Although the advert says for grinding, marking and measuring, there are lots of associated uses like finding centres and starting drilling. In fact I bought mine mainly for use on the worktable of a bench drill, to drill tubes and cylinders. The operating knob is very easily turned and completely positive in its action. Are there any disadvantages? Well possibly some may miss a matching hold-down screw clamp for the workpiece. but in all fairness this was not advertised and should not be expected. I expect to fashion my own. I am very pleased to own this magnetic V block and am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for one.

I bought these to check the straightness of a VW Crankshaft and they were exactly what I needed. Packing was poor but luckily they did not sustain any damage

Just what I needed to drill holes correct in centre of bars. Made for the job. Strong magnet base, can be flat or vertically mounted.

Bought this mainly for drilling holes in wooden dowels but also for metal rods etc. I can't really fault this for the money. When drilling you just line it up and switch the magnetic lock on and it's held very firmly, just as though it were clamped.The block has a high quality finished and was actually bigger than I'd anticipated which made me even happier. For the cash I don't see how you could go wrong. Highly recommended.

Un seul bémol : la force d'aimantation est vraiment juste juste. Il s'ensuit des glissements de la pièce sur le vé, voire du vé sur la table de la machine. Utiliser avec précautions.

Magnet könnte stärker sein.Aber sonst ok.
