This condiment set is a class act ! So perfect, from the packaging to delivery date to actual contents. They look and feel so much more expensive in their weightiness and aesthetics, are identical (so interchangeable) for salt or peppercorns, easy to lock and load and the grind-size wheel on the base works a treat. 8" tall, 2" diameter, needing x8 AA batteries (ie. x4 in each mill). The spacious clear acrylic tray they sit in also feels reassuringly weighty. The mills arrive with a slip-on black plastic cap on each base (handy for picnics) but need removing to see them working, complete with a handy little light . Happy to say I'm using much less salt now too, as it's so easy to control using the large easy-press button on top. They'd make a great gift and I only wish I'd bought mine yonks ago ! Turns out it's a small company with a great product and a sense of humour who deserve to go far. Buy these ! You won't be sorry !

This is the best battery operated Salt and Pepper Mill I have bought. It is made with good material and feels sturdy and with the right quality design. Previously I have bought and given as present a "Best Seller" and always for some reason or other there was something wrong so I decided to try a different brand. Latent Epicure is new in the market but certainly coming in with full specs for this type of item: Easy access to insert the batteries area, which connect without problems to the grain (salt or pepper) holder, good feel when holding it and the coarseness setting is ample and easy to use. There is a difference in price compared with the most common brands but you will notice the difference as soon as you open the box. I had to contact the seller and the customer service is prompt and excellent. Very glad that I decided to get Latent Epicure Grinders.

I have quite bad arthritis in my hands which makes it difficult for me to operate standard coffee and salt grinders. These devices are great. A little difficult to set up but great otherwise.

I bought this set on 30 March 2024 and was very pleased with the overall feel and ease of use. On Saturday 15 June 2024 one of the units failed (hence my slight downgrade for sturdyness). This is where my comment about customer service kicks in. I emailed Latent Epicure (via their website) that Saturday evening and James Simpson (the owner of the small business) replied Sunday morning, confirmed that they would issue a replacement, and asked for a delivery address which I let him have later that day. He replied on Tuesday morning to say the replacement had shipped - it arrived the following day (Wednesday). They actually shipped a complete 2-grinder set even though only one of my originals had failed. Anyone who has run a business knows that nothing is perfect all the time and 'stuff happens'. The important thing is how you then deal with the issue and keep the customer informed about what is happening. James/Latent Epicure's performance was exemplary.

As is becoming the norm these days, we got an email from the company soon after the product was delivered, asking if there were any issues that needed resolving. There aren't! This is a high-quality product and while it's arguably expensive for a cruet set, it's certainly worth it. The build quality seems excellent, and the attention to detail is impressive. Added to that, the simplicity with which the size of grains can be adjusted is great, as is the clear perspex tray in which they sit on the table to prevent spillage. We would certainly recommend these if you are willing to spend this much money on salt and pepper mills. Update, 9/1/18 - having enjoyed these for a couple of weeks a small piece of plastic snapped off - very possibly our fault for rough handling as we always drop stuff! We sent an email to James, the owner, and within a few hours received a reply saying he would send a brand new one - it arrived this morning and is perfect. Very impressive customer service. People like this deserve to succeed.

The grinder is not strong enough for peppercorns unfortunately. I bought this a while ago and never been able to use it for peppercorns. So disappointed.

These look fab, the pepper one is good but the salt one keeps jamming on my rock salt. My main negative is with the number of batteries that they take. 4 x AA each

Muy funcional. Se lo regale a mi madre, una persona mayor, que ya no puede usar bien el molinillo de la pimienta. Esto es perfecto si te duelen las manos, las muñecas... Por otro lado son bien bonitos, puedes llevarlos a la mesa perfectamente. ¡¡¡Me he comprado otro para mi!!!

Pros: only needs 4 AA batteries, and grinds quite well, as described. Delivery was quick and well packaged. Cons: initial putting of everything back together was a bit tricky, as parts are a very tight fit and locking mechanisms need a bit of effort, but will probably be easier with use. Overall: seems a well designed, quality product and good value for money. The complimentary stand is really good too, unobtrusive and keeps table tidy.

I was house sitting for my neighbor and she had a set of grinders similar to this. I looked them up and they were $75 each, so I kept looking and found these for less than half that for both salt and pepper shaker. They work just as well or better than the more expensive ones. I love that these came with a little tray. They do not leak but I prefer to put them on something rather than right on the counter. They take 4 AAA batteries each and it was easy to put the batteries in. I checked out the adjustment for courseness and it's easy to get a multitude of settings. I suggest looking at it before you fill it so you understand how it works. Just turn the thing in the direction you want. You can keep twisting it further than the little guides. Those guides just show you which way to twist to get course or fine grind. Both of these are identical and work great. To top it off there is a nifty light to help show how much you are adding to your food. I am so enthralled with using these that I can not wait to have something to add salt and pepper to.
