![Please Please Me [VINYL]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81eir5QTKhL.jpg)

Debut studio album by the English rock band, originally released in 1963. Of the album's 14 songs, eight were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, including hit single and title track 'Please Please Me' and 'Love Me Do', which was a number one hit in the United States in 1964. Review: A great record by the still number one group. The Beatles. - Have been a Beatles fan way back in the 1960s when I was a teenager. Bought all their LPs and singles then.. These records have become tired with use. So I decided to replace them with fresh LPs which have been remixed and reproduced in stereophonic sound. They sound is quite amazing now giving me the same thrill I felt when I first heard them 60 plus years ago. The Beatles are still the number one group. Review: Great Album - My "MISSING" Beatles CD! NEVER HAD FULL COLLECTION. If you want to cheer yourself up, play 'I Saw Her Standng There' when you are doing boring kitchen jobs...lifts the spirits no end!!

Help!
I headline my review as 'Help!'. Why do I do this? Well like most positive reviewers, this is a great album, but is it? I do not know what George or Paul or John had for breakfast on those important recording dates. But what I can tell you is that this album's future depends on whether it is listened to in stereo or mono. I could draw upon other reviewers' nostalgic comments on this potential great album, but if I listen to this album in stereo first, I guess I would have not rated this album the historic respect it does indeed does deserve. How can I say this? Well, indeed I did buy this album on vinyl, but in stereo..........Enough said. Yes, I have bought the post 'Rubber Soul' remastered albums, and boy do I wish I could buy 'please please me', but to hear john in one speaker and bass in another speaker (stereo), kills this album, hence I've refrained from buying this remastered cd. So, true Beatles, rock fans, spread the word, unless you can tell me to buy this remastered 'stereo' version and that it does reflect the beauty of this outstanding album (mono). I hope I am wrong, so I can have this wonderful album on cd, and partttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttty. But then I wondered why would EMI released a 'mono' version of the studio albums? I guess they do it for exactly for 'please please me' as they no doubt know there is a crucial sound experience, difference. Please tell me I am wrong so I can once again have this wonderful album, on cd. Help!

Very Pleasing
Finally a long awaited and completely updated version of this most classic of all albums. I am glad they decided to go for the stereo version even if it isn't the purist preference and it is definitely an improvement on my vinyl stereo original considering it was only recorded on twin track tape in the first place. The history of PPM is well documented so I am not going to repeat all it here. Just a couple of personal comments: I like 'PS I Love You' (unlike a fellow reviewer !) and I still think it would have been a stronger A Side than 'Love Me Do'. I also believe the same even more so of 'Ask Me Why' although, in this case I wholeheartedly endorse the choice of 'Please Please Me' - a terrific song and I can still remember hearing it on the radio as my mother did the ironing when it was in the charts way back then... As a CD package, I like how it's been done - especially with dates and places on the photo's. The mini documentary is good too. My only minor gripe is that it is a cardboard holder rather than a plastic case ; otherwise a great job and does not disappoint.

One, Two, Three, Four...and music changed for ever.
A historical document of the precise moment when popular music was changed forever. Sure, it was The Beatles set list and their record company was unsure of their capabilities. Against modern recording techniques this sounds dated but it really is of no consequence as the energy that the group throws into their performance more than makes up for it. Excellent and of course it will please please you.

Nice remastered edition well packaged. The Ur record album.
Beatles' debut. Recorded in a mere 26 hours, capturing the excitement of their Cavern club live set. Nobody can 'whooo!' like the fab four! All of these remasters come in quality cardboard covers with informative sleeve notes. This isn't the collection with the most hits or the one which best captures their genius. It's the one from which all other pop music is descended. The Ur record album.

There are some legendary tracks on this CD like "I saw her standing there", "PS I love you". What a fabulous group and what an incredible era the 60's (and 70's) were. They made rock and roll seem like everyone could do it - which we found out later - couldn't be repeated. The songs are lots of fun.

This is my 7th and possibly final review on this remaster series as it is the last of the vinyl records that I had planned to purchase. In order to compare this record to previous recordings, I played it back to back with Capitol's "The Early Beatles." It has 11 of the same 14 songs on it. This was probably the 3rd pressing because it was on the Apple label. I was surprised to hear how good this still sounded. It was also in excellent condition. The remaster was a very flat pressing and was almost dead quiet. The sound is dynamic and detailed. It would be a great match for those that have a stereo system that may be a bit on the dark or midrangey side. However it does sound different from the older pressing. I could see where Beatle fans would like both for different reasons. The song Please, Please Me definitely sounded different. However, I would not say it was better than the Apple version. The remaster has good definition and detail and bass. It would sound great on most modern stereo systems. A note on the Rainbo pressings: There has been a lot of critical backlash to these. Some may be warranted and some may not. Out of the 8 titles I have purchased, 7 of those were almost perfect. I had a lot of problems with the Sgt. Peppers album of which I had to return 5 copies to various local records stores as well as Amazon. I could not get a good copy to save my soul. I have decided to wait on that until they fix the problems with that one. The issues with that record are well documented by not only myself but others as well. In conclusion, I am batting about 88% on these. I think that is pretty good odds. I was never interested in the whole box set but wanted the British versions for my collection. I still highly recommend the first eight LP's of this 2012 vinyl remaster series.
