OXO Good Grips Salad and Herb Spinner, Little -Transparent

OXO have done it again - they've come up with another great kitchen product that works really well due to a superb design. Their salad spinner features a break, a lock, an inner basket, a lid, an outer bowl and of course, that plunger. And here in lies the genius of their design. The lid lifts off, you toss you wet salad in before replacing the lid and press down on the plunger. The design, reminiscent of those toys you had as a kid, spinning tops, uses centrifugal force to dry the leaves sending the salad basket round at a rate of knots and any water flying out to the sides and into the bowl for collection and drainage. You can plunge down two or three times if you like and get the thing whizzing round, and when you want it to stop, you just slam on the break by pressing the black rubber button of the salad spinners lid. And don't worry about storage. When not in use, simple press the plunger down and slide the plastic lock across. This keeps it in the down position meaning your spinner is no bigger and takes up no more room than your average mixing bowl. The base of the bowl is rubberised too, so it grips to the work surface and doesn't shoot off, and the lid pulls apart for easy cleaning. The unit is also dishwasher safe making it even easier to keep clean. What's more the inner basket can be removed so the spinner can be used as a standard bowl (nice!), and it can also be used to keep salad nice and fresh. Because if you keep your washed mix salad in the basket and bowl, pop on the lid and place it back in the fridge, your leaves will stay fresh longer. Awesome! The unit it available in two different sizes - this is the small model, which is fine for your average sized salad and singletons. I needed a small easy to store salad spinner to replace a big bulky one with a horrid handle. It is perfect for plenty of salad for two! I love the button press. Press it down and push the clip and it stays down for storage. No more awkward to store than a medium sized bowl. It says to push it a few times to spin, it doesn't even need that although it may have started to slow down a bit after a few months of use but still works fine. The brake is also excellent. No messing about; spin, brake, done! I also use it for herbs which I would previously have handled wet. It is alot easier to chop washed dry herbs than washed wet herbs believe me! One of those things you don't notice until you try it. It also has a non-slip base which works meaning one handed operation. Love this spinner!

Great product to spin dry lettuce. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t like eating wet lettuce in a sandwich.

Although the one that we got looks a little different to the picture on the listing it is still oxo good grips and it is a smaller version, so I assume it has been updated or something. It is really easy to use with the pump action, so if you have any wrist complaints this is a fantastic alternative to the old spinning handle sort. Comes with a separate flat lid so that once you have spun your salad, you can dry the bowl, tip the leaves into it, pop the lid on and put it in the fridge. Was unsure if we really needed one of this when my wife bought it, but it does keep fresh salad nice and crisp.

What a great gadget. Arrived today, and I used it to dry some herbs straightaway. Very effective, easy to use, and fun to play with ! Sturdy, and looks good - which was a surprise (based on the picture). Will easily hold enough salad leaves for 2 people having a substantial salad in my opinion. Ideal for a small kitchen. (No space for big gadgets !). Love it.

Bought this to replace a spinner I have had for years, and I mean years. This one is a whole new ball game. I dont want to wax lyrical about a salad spinner, but suffice to say, it really does the job its supposed to do, I dont have to clutch it to my stomach and anchor it down on the work top and just to be able to press down on it and it works is the best thing!! There is only the two of us and it does the job with a whole hot house lettuce, so not as small as you think it might be. Not so sure about it keeping lettuce fresh in the bowl in the fridge though, but apart from that go for it, you will love it.

Perfect! Does exactly what you'd expect. Even though I chose the smaller salad and herb spinner, it's more than large enough for our needs (three people). Simply pump the plunger and watch it spin. Leaves the lettuce lovely and dry. It's easy to grip, easy to use, and is non-slip so it won't ever move on the work-surface so you can be as vigorous as you like (not that it needs it - it's so simple, it can be operated with ease by someone with arthritis). I've been using this appliance regularly (at least twice a week) for more than two years and it's still going strong. I finally had to write a review. I'm just so happy with this little machine.

Ridiculously pleased with this salad spinner. Having read other reviews I chose the smaller size and am so glad I did. With the plunger locked it fits neatly into my other bowls, so storage isn't an issue, and despite it being small it dries lettuce, salad leaves, herbs, anything leafy, to perfection. Goodbye wet tea towels. And if I am cooking for friends and family I can dry stuff in batches. Really pleased with my purchase.

Die Schleuder ist toll! Praktisch, nicht zu groß und liefert immer ein tolles Ergebnis. Selbst Kräuter lassen sich gut trocknen. Ich nutze die Schleuder bereits zum Waschen des Gemüses/Salats bzw. der Kräuter. Entweder wasche ich in dem Sieb oder in der Schüssel, je nach Bedarf. Die Schleuder steht fest auf dem Tisch aufgrund der guten Gummierung und das Schleudern macht mit dem Druckknopf und der Bremse richtig Spaß. Auch das Feststellen des Druckknopfes ist praktisch für ein Vertauen im Schrank. Die Einzelteile lassen sich leicht reinigen. Besser wäre noch, man könnte sie in die Spülmaschine packen. Kann man vielleicht auch, aber ich denke, das Material könnte milchig werden oder zerkratzen und ich riskiere es deshalb nicht - schließlich ist die Schleuder nicht für den Spülmaschinengebrauch ausgezeichnet (aber damit hatte ich bereits gerechnet). Bei größeren Mengen, z. B. Spinat, muss man ggf. das Waschen und Schleudern wiederholen und das gewaschene bzw. getrocknete in einen größeren Gefäß sammeln. Fazit: funktioniert sehr gut, macht spaß und sieht auch noch gut aus. Für mich hat die Schleuder eine ideale Größe.

Does its job effortlessly. Genuine. First buy from this site. Really happy. Oxo has some great products and this is one of them.

Easy to use and managed to remove most of the water from salad. It's good for one portion but not more

This tool is so perfect. Wish if it was a little bigger. I use them every single day. Love it!
