Seems a good sturdy lock, easy to set the combination and great value

I bought four of these padlocks after having some trouble with less than sociable types letting my beloved bovines out of their field and onto the road. I encountered a problem with the first padlock I went to reset and it is now stuck closed on a combination known only to almighty Zeus. However, I realised my mistake when I tried the second. You have to press the shackle in until you hear a clunk when you go to reset. It worked perfectly on the other three. I'll order another since it was my fault the first one didn't open. My advice is to make sure you press the shackle in as far as it goes when you set the combo!

this padlock is nice an chunky and feels quality. I bought it for a garden gate and have to admit I have not used it much yet. word of warning when setting the combination ... really push the shackle in hard while resetting the code (it should give a good clunk) and make sure it does not pop out again until you have chosen the combination. security is pretty good too ... I know this as I messed up the combination change and the thing did not set itself to the combination I thought it was (d'oh!). I tried all the usual tricks for getting it open without knowing the combination ... I tried to feel any resistance when turning the dials and that did not give any clue unlike cheap and nasty padlocks sometimes do. I tried the coke can shim techniques (isn't the internet great!) but that pretty much failed (although could be my ability...). in the end I guessed the combination and have had no problem with setting the combination and using it since. I've not had it outside for any length of time but am going to soak it in oil to make sure it does not sieze up. would recommend as good quality for the price.

Brilliant piece of kit. I've been through multiple padlocks for my bike shed and 2 other outbuildings and they do not last. You've got tiny fiddly keys to worry about and I was always misplacing those or finding them in coat pockets. Then the padlocks rust or get stiff to operate. This one has solved all my problems and has a combination lock. I bought 3 and set the combinations all identical and used the same 4 digit code as my house alarm so that I couldn't forget it. No more fiddly keys. Super strong lock and operation is quick and hassle free. I feel that my garden equipment and bikes are more secure than ever before as these locks are serious and would require professional bolt cutting equipment to break them whereas my previous locks were insubstantial. Great value and super speedy delivery. Impressed.

For some unknown reason, I didn't read the reviews of this product before buying it!! If I had, I'd NEVER had purchased it. I followed the instructions and set my own 4 digit code. Closed the padlock, spun the numbers to lock it, and it was locked. Put my personal unlock code in again and it unlocked. Happy days I thought!! Went away overnight and locked the padlock. Came back again the next day and it wouldn't open. All the numbers were entered 100% correctly and I moved them all around in case some of them we're slightly misaligned. It refused to open and after wasting a lot of time aimlessly twiddling the dials, I came back to the Amazon page to find out that this was a very common problem with this padlock. Someone suggested whacking the lock a couple of times with a hammer with the correct code put in it, and that's exactly what I did, and it worked for me. So with the lock off and open again, away from my gate, I closed the lock and spun the dials again. It locked, but when I went to enter my unlock code again, yes, you guessed it, it wouldn't open!!! I contacted Amazon who were very good and refunded my payment back to me right away. They also told me that they didn't need me to send the padlock back. I guess they know that this a common fault with this product then.

This is a replacement for same one i bought 9 years ago and eventually started to seize up. So reasonably happy with its longevity.
