Really happy with this pen set! The nibs work great for different lettering styles, and the pen holder feels solid. Perfect for journaling and trying out calligraphy. Easy to use and good quality—definitely recommend!

This is a lovely set at a very reasonable price. I am a total novice and I love the Hunt 101 nibs (only my technique occasionally lets them down). These nibs are very sharp and are supposed to be! They need a very light touch on the upstroke or they will snag and you will end up with ink splats on your work. But with practice you will get better. I would not recommend these nibs for an absolute beginner as most will be a little too heavy handed to get the best from them. Having said that if you treat with a very light touch, there is no reason why you can't use them as a beginner. I would recommend this set anyway for beginners as you get the oblique nib holder included, into which you can put more beginner friendly 'G' nibs in, and when you are more used to using nibs you will have the 101's to try out.

Unsure if this item is mislabelled. Only one of the nibs fits the small holder and it's so tiny it doesn't actually hold any ink (I even tried it with a thinner ink that permanent Indian, but no amount of dipping made it work). Yet the label states that of the six nibs, three are for the smaller holder. The larger holder and nibs are good though, no complaints there, but it loses a star for the above.

I use this for inking illustrations using waterproof ink and all of the nibs work nicely. I was a little concerned when it arrived as some nibs seemed to be a little rusty (see picture), but this hasn't affected their performance at all. For a beginner the nibs provide everything you need and a broad range of thicknesses. The handle is on the cheap side but comfortable and easy to use. The nibs fit tightly in the holder (though I have had nibs slip out on occasion - this is likely user error). It's not the highest quality set but if you're exploring inking for the first time and just want to give it a go, the results are really pleasing.

I'll keep the pen, which is okay. But I've had to order different nibs because the ones that came with the pen of incredibly scratchy and don't hold much ink before you have to refill. Perhaps they're designed for really expert calligraphers and I'm just not good enough?

Great starter pen for those wanting to try an oblique pen holder. Easy to use, doesn't require pliers to change nibs just a small piece of paper towel to stop oil from your hands contaminating the nib. Only down side is after a while the nib is becoming lose in the holder from use. That's why this is a great starter pen to try before you invest in the much more expensive pens out there. Added bonus, an assortment of nibs included.

The speedball is amazing for swatching inks and laying down a lot of ink on paper for painting. The different size nibs provide variety as well. I’d definitely recommend it.

You can't go wrong with Speedball products - they are economical and always good quality. This pen set is good for writing and drawing, with a variety of nibs. (Hunt 512 nib very good) Very pleased with purchase. The great thing about the two holders - one regular size, one smaller map size, is that they take most standard nib sizes so you can buy antique/vintage nibs which you find on ebay for very little and don't have to get a new pen.

Me encantaron!!!! Realmente vale la pena si eres zurdo porque batallas mucho con las normales, y estás te quitan de mucho problema. Muy buena calidad de plumillas, pero tomar en cuenta que son delicadas.
